It was after the episode wrapped. Kameron was that week’s lip-sync assassin, someone had gone home, and the rest of the queens were getting ready to call it a night. Kameron wasn’t necessarily supposed to talk to any of them, but he wasn’t explicitly told not to, and planned on exploiting that loophole as he pulled Blair off to the side. “Hey, how are you feeling?”

Blair shrugged with a soft smile. He really appreciated seeing a familiar face, Kameron’s specifically. “I’m feeling… a lot. I don’t even know how to begin to describe it.” 

“Do you need a hug?”

Wordlessly, Blair melted right into his arms, hiding his face in the crook of his neck. The cacophony of feelings swirling around his body and mind all seemed to quiet down when he had a pair of strong arms wrapped around him. “Thanks,” he finally whispered. 

“You got this,” Kameron assured, rubbing his back. “I believe in you.” 

And suddenly all Blair was feeling was what he felt on their season together - a crush he forced himself to ignore and reluctantly prepared himself to do again.

Vanessa watched her friend stare intently at her phone, both amused and confused. “You know all this shit could be avoided if you just talked to her, right?” 

Blair scoffed. “It’s gotta have a buildup, Vanjie. It’ll be more meaningful that way. Besides, I made them a spotify playlist full of love songs. Is that obvious enough?” She passed her phone to Vanessa so she could see her song choices. 

“I don’t know a single fuckin’ one of these songs. You theatre kids are so goddamn extra,” she clicked her tongue and laid back on the bed after handing Blair’s phone back to her. 

“You’re calling me extra?”

“I calls it like I sees it,” Vanessa chuckled. “And I can be extra, I’m the one with a girlfriend. Who I got by asking her out like a fuckin’ normal person instead of this secret admirer fuckery.” 

Blair huffed and put her phone back in her pocket. “I refuse to consider anything about you or Brooke to be normal,” she retorted. “Look, are you gonna help me or not?” She got up to go to her laptop, opening spotify there instead and plugging a USB in.

Vanessa chuckled. “‘Course I’m gonna help you.” Her role in the plan was simple enough. She slipped a secret admirer note and the USB with the playlist into Brianna’s locker because she knew how to pick a lock (and Blair wasn’t about to ask how or why). 

Once her task was done, she reported back to Blair. “Aight, you ready?” 

“This feels like a trick question,” Blair chuckled dryly. “But yeah, I’m ready as I’ll ever be. Let’s move on to phase two.” 

For that, Vanessa had one more task. As per the instructions in the secret admirer note, Brianna was waiting by her locker at the end of the school day, and it was Vanessa’s job to get her from point A to B. “Put this on,” she instructed, handing a sleep mask to her. 

Brianna arched her brow, hesitating before putting the mask on. “I feel like I’m risking my life right now, I just want you to know that.”

Vanessa just laughed as she walked with her. “Just relax. You listened to that playlist, right?”

“Yeah, it was really sweet.”

“So now you’re just gonna find out who made it, and y’all can ride off into the sunset or whatever,” she explained as she led her into the auditorium. “You can take your blindfold off.”

Suddenly, Brianna felt very nervous, having no idea what she was about to see. Vanessa had such a variety of friends, it didn’t really narrow anything down, not that she could really stop and think about it. She was still grappling with the fact that she actually had a secret admirer. But when she took the mask off and saw Blair, her face lit up. 

Blair smiled softly, tucking her hair behind her ear. “Hey.”

Brianna only vaguely noticed Vanessa sprinting out of the room to let them have their moment. Her eyes were fixed on Blair as she made her way over to her. “You really went through all that effort for me? I… that’s so sweet.” 

“Does… that mean you’ll go out with me?”

The shorter girl’s smile only broadened as she kissed her cheek. “Absolutely.”

7&14, maybe a proposal scene for the prompt?

7 & 14 - Gigi and Blair

“Do you think she’s mad at me?” Blair asked, the two of them in Vanessa’s apartment after Gigi requested her girlfriend stay out of there until she said otherwise.

“You would know if she was mad at you. We all would know,” Vanessa chuckled as she continued working on the plaits she was doing in the blonde’s hair. “Maybe she just wants to give the place a deep cleaning or some shit.”

She sighed, looking in the mirror once her hair was done. “You could be right. I appreciate your optimism either way.”

“I’m not even tryna be optimistic, you’re just paranoid,” she chuckled. “But hey, worst case scenario, you know B and I will let you crash here as long as you need to. Plus I could take her skinny ass down real fast.”

Blair giggled softly, then took a deep breath. “Thanks, Vanj. You’re the best friend a girl could ask for.” Her phone went off just as she finished her sentence. “Oh, I guess I’m allowed back inside,” she mused and got up, giving Vanessa a quick hug before she left.

Brooke Lynn stood in the doorway, watching the younger girl leave and waiting for the door to close before she spoke. “She has no idea, huh?”

Vanessa bounced excitedly on the bed. “Not even a little.”

Blair wasn’t feeling any less anxious when she got to her and Gigi’s apartment, hand trembling as she unlocked the door. But when she stepped inside, she was greeted with a path of rose petals at her feet. “Okay, so she’s not mad,” she murmured to herself as she followed the path that led to the bedroom.

The first thing Blair’s eyes went to was the bed - which was obviously the point once she realized the petals spelled out a question. ‘Will you marry me?’ Her eyes instantly welled with tears as she looked around to find Gigi.

“You know I couldn’t resist doing something incredibly cheesy,” Gigi remarked as she came into Blair’s line of vision. “And I know you, so,” she chuckled awkwardly before clearing her throat. “Anyway, um,” she got down on one knee, taking the black velvet box out of her pocket. “Will you marry me?”

It took a moment for Blair to respond, as she was nearly doubled over in sobs. “Yes! Yes of course!” She stumbled a bit as she pulled Gigi up to her feet, hugging her tightly.

Gigi was crying too, albeit almost silently. She gingerly slid the ring onto Blair’s finger, then pulled her into a deep kiss. “I love you.”

Blair bounced on the balls of her feet, kissing her several times over. “I love you too! Oh my god, I gotta call my mom, I gotta tell Vanjie, I gotta-”

“You gotta breathe,” Gigi told her, grabbing a tissue to wipe her eyes. “Though honestly, I’m just relieved Vanjie didn’t tell you.”

“You told her?!”

“I told Brooke. It’s not my fault she can’t say no to her.”

They both laughed, hugging each other tightly and still sniffling, wanting to absorb every bit of this moment, make it last as long as their future will.

1 & 19 - Blair St. Clair and Erika Klash

“You are skating on thin ice,” Rock warned, watching Erika prepare to go back in time yet again. “You can ignore me all you want, you’re still driving on bald tires.” 

Erika rolled her eyes. “This is fine, everything is fine. Also, no one asked you.”

Rock pinched the bridge of her nose. “Aren’t you worried that you’ll mess something up permanently if you do this too many times? What if you hurt her?”

“You know I’d never let her get hurt,” she replied with a firm seriousness in her tone. “I’ll be back,” she said, and was gone before her friend could argue. 

And then Erika was there at the train station. The same train station she had revisited so many times. Because the first time she missed her, the first time she didn’t get on the same train as that beautiful stranger. So she went back. 

But the second time her nerves got the better of her, so she went back again. The third time she at least introduced herself, but the conversation was awkward and stilted. By the fourth time, she had finally gotten it right, but didn’t seal the deal with exchanging any contact information. 

So, the fifth time was the charm, she hoped. Erika stepped onto the train and sat down next to the girl. “I like your hat,” she remarked.

Blair smiled, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. “Thanks, it was actually my grandma’s,” she replied. 

“I’m sure it suited her as well as it does you,” she hummed. “I’m Erika, by the way.”

“Blair,” she replied. “What stop are you getting off on?”

Erika paused to remember what Blair had said the last time she went through this. “I get off in two stops,” she told her. 

Blair tilted her head, grinning softly. “So am I, where are you headed?”

“Oh, just to run some errands… but maybe we could get coffee or something later?” Erika’s heart was pounding, this had to be the time she got it right, right?

“Sure, give me your phone, I’ll put my number in,” she offered, taking Erika’s phone and plugging her number in just as the train reached their stop. 

Erika tucked the phone back into her pocket. “Hopefully I’ll see you later, then,” she said as they both walked off. This was the furthest she had gotten out of any of the times she’d revisited this moment. And while she didn’t want to have to do it again, she was willing to until it was perfect.

4 & 14 - Miz Cracker and Blair

“Since when do you have any interest in stage tech?” Monét asked, watching Brianna sort through a box of props. 

“Since always!” 

She rolled her eyes and laughed. “Bitch, I have been doing these musicals since seventh grade and have never seen your ass back here once,” her gaze drifted to the stage. “It’s her, isn’t it?” Her head cocked towards the lead actress running lines. 

Brianna’s face flushed red and she all but stuck her head in the box she was sorting through to avoid her. “You can’t prove anything.”

Monét just stared at her. “There is literally nothing I need to do to prove anything,” she said flatly. “But seriously, I work with Blair all the time, she’s really nice, I think you should talk to her.” 

The mere suggestion made her look at her friend incredulously. “Do you even know who I am? Last week when we went out to lunch, you had to tell the waitress my chicken was undercooked because I was ready to either die or starve rather than say anything. And you were like, ‘Brie, the waitress isn’t gonna be mean to you’ and I was like, ‘that’s not the point, I-”

“Oh my god, stop,” her friend groaned. “I get it, you have literally zero ability to handle any form of confrontation. What if I talk to her for you?”

There was a moment of hesitation, but Brianna nodded. “Okay, I’m gonna trust you. Please don’t make me regret that.” 

“I got you, I promise,” Monét assured, waiting for Blair to finish running through her monologue before guiding her off to another part of the stage. “Hey, just need to borrow you real quick.” 

Blair tilted her head, but smiled and nodded. “Sure, what’s going on?”

“See, I’ve got this friend,” she pointedly looked over at Brianna, then back at Blair. “And this friend is wondering if there’s a chance that your type might be tiny, neurotic, Jewish girls.”

“Oh,” Blair covered her mouth as she giggled, a tint of pink blooming on her cheeks. “Yes, but if you don’t mind, I’d rather tell her myself.”

“Be my guest,” Monét watched Blair make her way across the backstage, sitting down in a folding chair to watch.

Blair smiled and kneeled beside Brianna. “I have a feeling Monét wasn’t quoting you verbatim but, um, I’m totally down to go out sometime.” 

“I don’t know what she told you, and I apologize profusely. That said, are you free Saturday night?” 

“It’s a date.”

3 & 14 - Vanessa and Blair

“I got your message,” Vanessa said as she entered the studio. “You got it ready?”

Blair got up from the table she was sitting at and nodded brightly. “Yeah! Oh, I’m really excited for this one,” she chirped as she ducked into one of the back rooms and came out with a garment bag. “Go try it on, just wanna make sure it doesn’t need any alterations.” 

Vanessa nodded, taking the bag and taking it with her into the dressing room, coming out a few moments later and standing in front of the multi-panel mirror. “Shit, this is fucking stunning,” she observed, taking in the outfit at every possible angle. “I’d just wear it everywhere if I could get away with it.” 

“Excellent, I couldn’t ask for a better reaction,” she mused, taking a step back so she could thoroughly examine how the outfit fit on the performer. Of course, this reflected another highlight of her job - being able to just stare at her for as long as she liked. 

Plenty of people became infatuated with Vanessa upon first meeting - her personality was uniquely captivating that one could almost forget that she was breathtakingly beautiful as well. But Blair was well aware of both. Constantly. Having a crush on her was almost easy, though - she could gush to almost anyone that worked for the circus about her feelings and would get a flippant variation of ‘same’. 

It wasn’t the same, though. No one else could even begin to grasp how deep her infatuation was, especially because she was sure to keep it under wraps in professional settings. That was what she was trying to do then, as she walked up behind the performer to pin a few spots along the bodice that needed to be taken, her free hand resting on her hip. 

Vanessa glanced down at the hand that rested on her, smiling to herself. “You better be real thorough with your editing… you know, gotta make sure everything’s in place.”

Blair arched her brow, picking up that Vanessa wasn’t actually concerned about her craftsmanship. So, to test the waters, she moved her hand gently up and down Vanessa’s side. “You think so?”

“Uh huh, I know you care about attention to detail,” she hummed, leaning into the touch. 

The designer opened her mouth to speak again, but her phone went off. “Shit, I forgot I had a meeting scheduled,” she muttered, then looked back at Vanessa. “Why don’t you come back tonight for… an extra fitting?”

Vanessa smirked. “Oh, I’ll be there.”

“So what exactly is the point of this game?” Blair asked. He and Vanessa were sitting in his hotel room during the season ten tour, looking for a way to kill their boredom when they found themselves with an extended period of alone time. 

Vanessa shrugged. “Dunno. Just seems like everyone and their mama plays it, so I figured it was worth a shot,” he explained as he started the game. “Everything’s all blocks, I know that much.”

“I can see that,” he confirmed, looking at the screen and resting his head on Vanessa’s shoulder as they started to figure out the controls in an attempt to actually navigate the game. “It’s one of those building games, right?” He asked, having been trying to think of it as they explored the space.

He nodded. “Yeah, but I don’t see the shit you’re supposed to build with. Unless it’s there and I can’t tell. Does this shit come with a how-to guide?” 

Blair furrowed his brows. “I could google something, but that kind of takes away from the experience, doesn’t it? Like, it’s kind of cheating.” 

“Well I don’t know what else I’m supposed to do,” Vanessa whined, then shifted the laptop onto Blair’s lap. “You take over, I’ll watch.” 

And Blair did his best, they figured out the basic setup, got into some actual gameplay, but neither of them would say they came away actually understanding how it worked. “How much time have we killed on this?” he asked.

Vanessa looked at his phone. “Like a half hour.” He lay flat on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. “That didn’t work as good as I thought. You wanna watch Real Housewives or something?” 

Blair didn’t really watch the show, but he knew he still wanted to spend time with Vanessa. “Sure. At least you can explain what’s going on there to me,” he chuckled.
