04.10.2014 || Golden legs on a cheap desk

After 6+ years of having to live with piles of music gear in our living room.....Fred finally moved it all out and into his own studio work space. I was so happy to see it all go. Mainly just his desk. That thing was such a pain to move...and I've moved that thing about 3 or 4 times to new apartments. It was just an awesome feeling to see what my living room looked like without music gear piled everywhere. 

I was so excited to finally have all the free space to create my own work area and to have my own desk (hooray!)

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it and I wanted something lightweight that I could easily take apart in case we moved and/or something I wouldn't feel bad about destroying ...with paint...nail polish..etc. 

I scouted craiglist and couldn't find anything that called out to me so I turned to Pinterest for inspiration on a cheap DIY. 

I wanted a white desk with gold legs and found just the post I needed to help me bring my vision to life. (Thanks to Dream Green DIY for the inspiration!) It wasn't exactly what I had envisioned but the price was right! I spent about $20 on my desk..including the spray paint. I also found these amazing chairs on craigslist! I couldn't buy just one. We all know that I need a desk chair...and a dog chair. :)

I taped around the black so the paint wouldn't get on it. 

I didn't have tarp or anything to lay out so I used a bunch of old mail envelopes that I had planned on tossing into our recycling bin. 

Needless to say...I'm pretty happy with my new desk, chairs, and my new work space. It's still a work in progress but the pups seem pretty happy with it right meow.
