South Sacramento shooting victim identified

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA – The man shot and killed early Saturday morning in a Fruitridge neighborhood has been identified as 18-year-old Cheaquis Jones of Sacramento.

According to Sacramento County Sheriff’s spokesperson Lisa Bowmen, deputies responded to the 5600 block of Sampson Boulevard just after midnight Saturday morning after receiving reports that someone had been shot.
