“Wait, I don’t get it, who’re you supposed to be?”

Chowder grinned and tugged on his Falcs jersey. “I’m Jack! See, I even padded the seat of my pants.” He turned around and wiggled his butt.

“Oh, good lord,” Bitty shook his head and glanced over at Dex. “Don’t tell me…”

Dex shrugged and waved a hand at the Kiss the Cook apron he’d stolen from the kitchen. “They wanted me to bleach my hair, but I refused.”

Bitty rolled his eyes. “We’re taking a billion selfies- wait, who’s they?”

Just then, Nursey burst into the room, wearing nothing but Wonder Woman boxers and a fake mustache. “Brahs!” He shouted, holding up a ridiculously large, fake joint. “Let’s get schwasty!”

For the @checkplease100 prompt #16 playlist. I wrote this one the plane.

Jeff Troy makes playlists for every. Single. Game.

It’s fun in high school; it cures homesickness in Juniors.

Then the Vegas Aces draft him, and he has less time per game. So he makes playlists by team, instead. St. Louis is classic jazz. Dallas is bro-country; San Jose is rockabilly country. New York teams get hip-hop, punk rock, and some Broadway.

For Vegas it’s Britney, Taylor, and Katy, among Matchbox 20 and Weezer, because Swoops finds comfort in nostalgia.

“Let me hear,” Kent always says, stealing an earbud on the flight home. It’s his favorite.

That’s why Jeff made it.

I’ve never actually written 100 word fics before, so I’m giving this a try.

There’s a pumpkin sitting in the kitchen when Kent comes home. It hasn’t been touched yet, but there’s a carving knife sitting beside it. He hears a crash in the living room a moment later and a tumble of Russian swears. A little girl comes barreling into the kitchen then, right into Kent’s legs, giggling, “Papa said bad word.”

“Just little bad,” Alexei says as he picks her up.

“So can we carve the pumpkin?” she asks hopefully.

“Make scary or silly?” Alexei asks her.

“Silly!” she says with a giggle.

Kent can’t help but grin at their daughter’s excitement.

for @checkplease100 Prompt 10: Pass

"She's pretty," Nursey says, nodding slightly at the girl talking to Lardo with a blue solo cup pressed to her lips. She is pretty, Dex thinks, with big dark eyes and skin painted with freckles. She is pretty, but her eyes aren't greenish gray and she probably has never written a poem about the contents of the Haus couch's cushions. Dex looks back at Nursey and the way his smile has gone tight in the corners and how his eyes have lost the light they'd gained during beer pong.

"Nah," Dex smiles. "I'll pass."

Just like that, the light returns.

Nursey walked into the kitchen. “Morning.”

“Had fun at the Kegster?” Chris asked.

“It was a good time.”

“For the other guy too?”

Nursey coughed. “You heard about that?”

“Dude, I heard it. Probably half the Haus too.”

“For real?”

“Well. You’re definitely going to get chirped today.”

Nursey reddened. “Shit.”

“Good thing Dex was at a friend’s,” Chris mused. “Imagine him trying to collect fines while—”

Dex entered the kitchen, a huge hickey over his neck. “Nursey, I swear your mattress is the lumpiest thing in the world, how do you even—”

Then he finally saw Chris.

Prompt #46 for @checkplease100

Holster hates coffee. The bitterness rests on his tongue and it sits heavy in his stomach. He gets jittery from the caffeine and the mounds of sugar he has to dump in to make it palatable and worst of all, it keeps him up hours longer than he needs it to.

Still, when Ransom finally looks up from his reading to sip his coffee, Holster doesn’t let the opportunity pass him by. He leans over and pulls Ransom in by the front of his sweatshirt for a kiss. There’s coffee on his lips, bitter and strong, but Holster doesn’t mind.

FACE OFF

I don’t know for how long I’m gonna keep doing this but this is for @checkplease100 prompt #1: face-off

First times had never been Jack’s forte, but today, he felt strangely excited.  

However, he received worried glances from his teammates in the locker room.

«Kiddo, you alright?»

Jack nodded, and meant it wholeheartedly.

«The big game, eh?»

He chuckled.

The big game.

Eventually time ran out and the Falconers skated onto the ice.

Mere minutes later, he stood in the face-off circle, but he barely noticed the guy in front of him because there, for the first time, only meters away from him, stood Bitty in a Penguins jersey with a big number 15 and “ZIMMERMANN” on the back.
