Fun with the Scottish economy (because let's face it, it's been pretty depressing up until now)

Since the whole independence currency debate kicked off, I've always been absolutely charmed by one particular coin that Scotland used to use...looks like journalists and economists have noticed it as well.

Never mind the Merk (that makes it sound like we drafted in the German Chancellor to sort out the whole mess)...if Scotland goes independent, bring back the Unicorn! It's distinctive, it's pretty, and it would make TV supervillains sound like spoiled little girls ("Bring me a million unicorns and nobody gets hurt!"). No-one will convince me that their day wouldn't be made that little bit brighter by earning a thousand Unicorns at the end of the month. The pound would look downright stodgy by comparison.

And yes, I know the pound coin already has a unicorn on its design, but that one is chained up. May as well set the poor thing free while we're at it.
