okay, so like, theatricality when it comes to music (for me, at least) is kinda based on these things: 1. does it make you think of a story? (for example, even though i hate ‘diana,’ i still imagine this popstar named diana and a group of dudes singing abt her) 2. can you imagine a character or multiple characters singing it? (this is rly hard with 1d bc their songs are hella hard as solos, BUT i see a lot of them as v nice duets!!) 3. do i want to stage it? (this is more from my directing class, but basically, when i hear, can i imagine how ppl would move around the stage to it, can i see the setting and the characters, etc. so yes, act my age is one that i’ve had on the list for ages bc i know the main cast is going to be a decent sized ensemble and imagine all of these twenty-somethings!!! in a bar!!!! singing!!! act! my! age!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it’s literally such a good scene in my head, like it’s like the la vie boheme of this show, like everyone thinks everything is coming together and everyone is happy and then something really awful happens at the beginning of act two lmao.

as much as i like i want, i think similar sentiments are expressed better in different songs.....or i really just want to put ‘alive’ in this show and i think ‘i want’ might be overkill.....:P
