Probably not going to write much as the new year approaches, so I wanna share my picks for most... useful? pieces this year. Not Psychological Storytelling, even though it’s my best attempt at exporting my method of reading, and not Some Words On Openbound, even though the task of outlining the interpretations therein instilled me with a breathless feeling of triumph (deservedly or otherwise).

Instead, I think my best pieces are these two: a brief commentary on Rose, which does the rare (for me) work of assembling my views into a coherent picture of her story, and this (somewhat aimless) discussion of sexism and paranoia, which frames the ill-received ARG within conspiratorial fantasies of corruption endemic to Homestuck. My preoccupation with the nitty-gritty lends itself to a reluctance to reflect on what Homestuck might be saying at large, which is ostensibly a major output of any critical framework. So I kind of want to regard these two posts as my lodestars -- examples of how to go about framing all these snippets with respect to the whole.
