Rule 4: Let them know you’ve tagged them
1) What is the best lesson you ever learnt
Definitely self confidence. I see so many girls today making decisions in the hallway because of their absence of self confidence. I didn’t immediately have it, I learned my lesson slightly the hard way, but also slightly by the support and side by side travel through the long journeys with my family and friends.
2) Scariest thing you’ve done so far
Either having brain surgery or going through middle school. I dunno, they’re both pretty high on the list.
3) Album you could never live without
Definite tie between my Fats Waller mix tape, and the Weezer Blue Album.
4) If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet
I would love to meet the Marx Brothers. My dad and I watch their movies all the time and we’re the only ones who laugh and love their sense of humor. If I could go back and party hard with Groucho, then sit down and see Harpo with his family, I don’t think I could ask for anything else.
5) Who (real or fiction, live or dead) has influenced you the most
I know this answer is cheesy, but I have to say my dad. If you know me, and have heard my family drama rants about how golly we need to write a book or show up on Dr. Phil after all this drama, then you know I admire my dad beyond belief because not only of all that he’s been through, but how he handles it. My dad will sit down and quietly deal with the verbal and mental abuse for a few days, and then he sits up and says “ok we’re done. Let’s move on with our lives and forget about them,” while my mom and I want to go kick their asses.
My dad is just beyond his years after all that he has dealt with, and he has helped me deal with a lot. I don’t know if I could’ve survived 2013 without him showing me the way through it. so yeah.
6) Most unusual compliment you’ve received
After I had my brain surgery and I had to cut off my hair, I was told that I was rocking the lesbian look.
7) Do you think morals are social constructs or natural phenomena
8) How do you like to break the ice when meeting new people
I don’t know that I have a formula to it. My two best friends are introverts when it comes to things like that, and I’m really not. Ever since I grew up I could start a conversation about how blue the sky was today with the person sitting next to me on the bus.
9) How would you explain your basic life philosophy
Oooh. This one is tough. I really think that my life philosophy is still in its mold seeing as I am just beginning to be able to think clearly in the real world. My favorite quote is probably this one:
"I have a simple philosophy: Fill what’s empty. Empty what’s full. Scratch where it itches." —Alice Roosevelt Longworth
10) In general, what do you think about art
To me, art is just like food. When I eat pepperoni pizza, it’s great; but when my mom eats it, it makes her eyes water and it makes her sweat because she’s so sensitive to spicy food.
If my mom were to fall in love with a piece of art that is renowned by millions, I could walk in and be completely apathetic towards it. I feel like the experience of art isn’t exactly the same for every person, and that’s just part of the awesomeness.
11) If you could learn one random skill, what would you learn?
This may not count because it isn’t really random, but I want to learn the Chico Marx style to play piano http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5MCn2juMS0 If that doesn’t count then I would probably choose Mixed Martial Arts, because why not? If Ronda Rousey can do it, so can I.
