Does anyone want to join me in the Shane Hollander Dinosaur Phase agenda?
Shane can do a loon call, which basically confirms (to me at least) that he has a beyond surface level interest in birds. I firmly believe this led him down a rabbit hole of species classification and "Ilya did you know that birds are actually dinosaurs" "oh so is not a wolf bird its a dinosaur?? Like Scott Hunter?" and boom! dino fan Shane!
Obviously his true love is hockey (and Ilya), but something about organisation and being able to sort through and identify things in what should be chaos through clades and inheritance and groups makes me think of Shane. That man loves control and order and he could definitely find that in how paleontology works. Chaos and guesswork with predetermined rules!!
Another even more adorable idea is baby Shane reading something about dinosaurs in school and coming home to explain the difference between bird-hipped and lizard-hipped dinosaurs to a very confused Yuna and David Hollander!! I'm manifesting my weirdly detailed dinosaur figurines for him that he takes to hockey practice for good luck.
Idk I just want to give this man hobbies and niche interests and maybe I wanted to project my obsessions onto him. Shane let me tell you about the Irritator I think it will remind you of someone we both know <3
