I’ve been re watching yellow jackets again and Van just full on doesn’t like misty, why do you think that is. (Not going to lie their interactions are funny af)
ooo hmm. HMMM. i'm struggling to think of specific scenes where genuine, lasting animosity colours their interactions and it feels more like van finds her incredibly annoying along with misty being a really easy target and an easy laugh. and if we know one thing about van palmer, its that she WILL make a zinger regardless of the situation and she's shown that she's not shy about getting laughs at others' expense. that said i can also think of moments where she indulges misty in good nature (the victory chant during the solstice comes to mind off the top of my head, plus a couple bits from the adult timeline) so i don't know that i'd say she only doesn't like her
plenty of their interactions remind me of my older sister and i in our teens, lots of mean spirited teasing that could often be cruel but a lot of it had to do with spending way too much time cooped up together against our will and just being on uneven footing to start with. teen van doesn't necessarily see misty as a peer and punches down is my perspective
(but that's not saying much my memory is absolute shit and the clips i can find haven't been helpful to this end smh def let me know the scenes/episodes you've gotten the vibes from though!! i wanna make sure i'm not forgetting something important, i may be way off haha)
i agree though they're so funny lkafjs;dfk like van stop stooooop she's already dead 😭
I have a hc that it’s van that starts dirty talk. Tais getting all overconfident but also overwhelmed and can flips them both over and says “tell me what you want to do to me”
Phew hot
After that tai gets into dirty talk and is really good and whispering it in vans ear in inappropriate places.
bro this has been sitting in my inbow for like multiple weeks MY BADDDD
mm yes i can see that especially cause i think Van is a but less concerned abotu external opinions while Tai is a lot more caught up in how she's perceived. but yes after that Tai goes so hard with it.. ok i need to go write on this xoxo bestie
listen i loved dressing up like the characters and also making my own to play along with the movie lol i think anastasia and mulan wete the top 2 for that?? (and the first hp vhs but i no long think back fondly on that one :/)
i so SO wanted to believe she actually survived lmao
also fucking LOVE bartok and the soundtrack just fucking slaps
How do you like to take care of yourself?
Hanging out w friends or my sister, watching a good show or a movie, smoking weed, eating delicious food or dessert, drinking yummy cocktails, having sex, lol 15. Comfort food?
Chicken w mole and white rice!!!!! 25. If your soul was a color, what would it be?
Purple, probably
Love your van stuff. I defo think she’s got more long term effects from the wolf attack. Hear me out… I think that van often forgets her hearing aid but tai (shut up they are back together for ever) always reminds her / has a spare on her at all times.
Cochlea implant!Van is my new hc.
Absolutely tai keeps that thang (vans extremely necessary hearing aid) on her. Van is known to completely forget she has it on and will headbang/shake her head/nod/ do everything that makes it come loose
Tai also keeps spare batteries in her purse, cause, duh
I’ll say as well with vans limited vision on her left side she prefers that tai walk w her on her right, but when they’re in big crowds tai will walk on vans left so van knows no one is going to bump into her/sneak up on her.
As much as I want to find a funny song imma go with …
Heart shaped box by Nirvana.
(Rouge choice if you want to swap is I want to dance with somebody by Whitney Houston)
thank you for sending this!!! i admit this isn't a song normally on my playlists and the vibe of the song isn't necessarily...reflected lmao when i listened the line "hey! wait! i got a new complaint" stuck out and then i pictured nat working a shitty retail gig and mari comes in complaining about something and then it turned into this. i hope it's enjoyable anyways!!
Nat doesn't glance up from her phone when she hears the bells above the shop's door jingle. Wiskayok Laptops and Smartphones has neutral to negative reviews online—two stars at most—and it's entirely by design. She doesn't know for sure (she hasn't found proof and would rather not blow up her only source of income by digging any up), but she does know her mom's cousin, Benny. And if you know anything about Benny Moretti, you know that he's up to some shit.
But a gig's a gig.
"Pulcino, I just need someone to man the store. Even being your ma's kid, I know that's something you can manage," he'd said.
And he wasn't wrong. Getting more than two customers walking in a week is downright busy for the little shop tucked away in the corner of plaza with a hard-to-read sign. Inside, bright fluorescent lights flicker above the walls of cables and phone cases that make up the most of their limited sales. Phone and laptop repairs are listed under the services they (allegedly) provide, but no one who cares about their device would bring it here of all places.
Anyone with a brain can tell the shop's a front for something—if they didn't know before, they usually figure it out pretty quick the second they step inside—unless you're the girl that Nat's seen renting the commercial kitchen space across the plaza, apparently.
"Please help," she approaches the counter and drops a cracked phone in front of her.
Frantically, Nat looks from the clearly broken phone up to the woman she's only seen from a distance who has barged in suddenly asking for help and being unbearably hot with flour across her front and speckled across her face. She has to compose herself.
"Uh," Nat says, fully composed.
"Can you fix this?"
Obviously not. Not only does Nat know next to nothing about a phone's hardware, she can't seem to string a whole damn thought together. Instead, she fixates on the beauty mark below the customer's lip.
"I…can try," she tells her with a level of confidence that should send anyone running while turning the phone over in her hands. Yep, screen sure is fucked. "What did you—how did this happen again?"
"It hit a wall," she responds quickly. Nat catches an odd blush blooming on her cheeks.
"Been there," Nat mutters under her breath before commenting further, "seems to have hit it pretty hard."
Though it's a statement, she hopes the question is evident as Nat pulls out a dusty form to place on the counter facing her and slides a pen beside it. Benny told her to accept repairs if they ever came in.
"I was cooking with my partner, wh—my business partner, we cater," she clarifies, as she fills in the form, "who uh, sent a message on my behalf."
The woman, Mari apparently, explains further.
"I couldn't figure out how to unsend it so…I um. Threw it. I threw the phone at the wall."
Nat snorts, quickly trying to cover it with a cough.
"It hit the wall before the message fully sent. I think."
"I don't think we can help with that part of it," Nat does her best to put on a professional voice. "We can see what we can do about the screen though."
Mari looks miserable. "Are you sure?"
"Pretty sure," Nat responds with a sympathetic half-smile, before indulging in the urge to poke the open wound a bit.
"Send something spicy to a guy?"she asks with a raised eyebrow.
Mari's face twists unhappily and the poor woman deflates in front of her. Nat takes that as a yes.
"Oof," she comments before scooping up the phone and the form and powering through this awkward encounter, "so, I'll take this to the back and will be right back to collect the payment."
The backroom would pass for an all right bachelor pad if you didn't have standards—it's dark, dank, and depressing but it does have an old TV with a N64 and a kichenette. She drops the paper and device on the table for Benny to deal with.
She shoots him a quick text.
do we do screens?? girl came in and its cracked af
jimmys out off sclool soon. he can youtub
Nat grimaces. Jimmy Moretti is Benny's pride and joy as a father—he's also a student at the middle school. Well, at least she can walk over an unsanctioned refund in person as an excuse to see Mari again when they can't do shit to fix the phone.
As she moves to slide her phone back into her bra—her jeans today hug her ass perfectly but are disappointing on the pocket front—Nat notices a new notification. Pulling it down to see the whole preview, she reads: Mari has sent you a message!
Her brain feels as if someone poured their coffee directly into a computer. Mind sparking and smoking, Nat fumbles as she thumbs open the app.
Though I usually avoid sunsets, I can't wait to see you go down.
Nat chokes on her own spit. Okay, she might have thrown her phone if someone sent that with her name attached.
Emerging from the backroom, she does her best to hide the smirk etched on her face.
"Can you stop by tonight?"
Mari tilts her head like a small dog. "To pick up the phone?"
"Well," Nat smiles softly, playing up the indifference, "I was hoping to see the sunset tonight."
She's never seen someone's face fall so damn fast.
"I'm going to kill Gen," Mari says into the hands covering her face as she leans her elbows on the counter before adding a pathetically endearing, "yes please."
Your post about your cat is heart breaking and wonderful. I’m going to be a mess if one of my cats die before the other
it sucks a lot!! on the one hand its nice having a buddy to grieve with but on the other its like experiencing the grief twice watching the one left process it too (sunny wouldn't leave my side for probably a month and a half??)
i've unfortunately lost three of my cats young (out of four 😭) in the last couple years (two were born with leukemia and passed around a year old, and bee was born with a membrane in the left side of her heart that ended up with her in congestive heart failure at 2.5yo at the end of feb this year) and the grief just. fucking sucks every time.
but then your cat won't stop knocking over her sister's ashes (not the other two i had before them, only her sister's even though the urns are all identical lolol) and you can only laugh and remember how much love there was and is even though someone's missing 🥲
