I watched Metal Family recently, and I just couldn’t get over how well the characters fit my Auraverse CheeseDash family. It’s absolutely nuts how spot on so much of it is, so of course I couldn’t resist the urge to draw a little crossover piece! Metal Family on its own is such a fun series, with so many comedic moments interspersed between the most gut-wrenching drama you’ve ever seen. But I won’t spoil it any further for you guys, watch it for yourself!

Watch Metal Family here! The episodes are short (ranging from 3 to just under 30 minutes) and I was able to binge it in about a day. I promise it’s worth it!

Name: Meteor Shower Nicknames: Metey, Big Shot (family nickname), Little Man (momma's boy nickname)  Parents: Rainbow Dash and Cheese Sandwich Siblings: Cheddar Changa, Sour Peach, Crash Racket, Bullseye Future Spouse: Strawberry Bon Bon Future Children: Confetti Inferno  Personality: In many ways, Meteor Shower is a typical guys’ guy, with a love of playing outside and getting rowdy with the other colts. He doesn’t let a lot get to him and doesn’t care much about what others think of him. Meteor Shower is very caring despite his wild and boyish exterior, however. He cares deeply about his family and friends and is sensitive to the feelings of others without being too emotional himself. He listens well and is great at giving gifts because he always remembers what ponies tell him about themselves. Meteor Shower is far from a stick in the mud and will gladly let his hair down and have fun when he has the chance, but he becomes very easily distracted during these times despite his thoughtful nature. Name: Sour Peach Nicknames: Peachy, Captain (by friends and coworkers), Sour Grapes (by Crash) Parents: Rainbow Dash and Cheese Sandwich Siblings: Cheddar Changa, Crash Racket, Bullseye, Meteor Shower Future Spouse: Pearl Closure Future Children: N/A Personality: It’s pretty much expected that a child of Cheese Sandwich and Rainbow Dash would be born with a sense of humor, and Sour Peach definitely fits that bill. She has her mom’s prankster streak and her dad’s goofiness, always down for a good joke. However, unlike her more emotive parents, her humor is hidden under a chilled-out exterior, to the point where other ponies struggle to figure out whether she’s joking or not. She’s also very nonchalant about her intelligence, in a way that doesn't feel condescending to others when she casually throws out answers to questions they struggled with. Overall, Sour is an independent soul, a traveler who hardly stays in one place for very long, not even her own home. There’s a world of creativity out there that she just cannot miss. But wherever she goes, she has a good laugh and a word of advice to share with those who need it. Name: Bullseye Nicknames: Bull, Little Bighorn (family nickname), Baby Bird (daddy’s girl nickname) Parents: Rainbow Dash and Cheese Sandwich Siblings: Cheddar Changa, Sour Peach, Crash Racket, Meteor Shower Future Spouse: Fireball Rosso Future Children: Sweet Scent, Spicy Kick Personality: A rowdy, rough-and-tumble filly, Bullseye gives the colts a run for their bits. She can keep up with, and even surpass, her twin brother and other colts her age, and she is not afraid to get dirty or otherwise come across as unladylike. She can even belch the alphabet, just double-dog dare her. But this isn’t to say that she doesn’t have an interest in the more feminine things in life. Sometimes she likes getting all dressed up and pretty instead of always making messes. She often feels trapped between two worlds because of this. Does Bullseye really have to choose between being one of the boys and one of the girls? Cutie Mark: N/A

Name: Crash Racket Nicknames: Lil Crash (childhood nickname), Racket, Noise (only Sour)   Parents: Rainbow Dash and Cheese Sandwich Siblings: Cheddar Changa, Sour Peach, Meteor Shower, Bullseye Future Spouse: N/A Future Children: Volcanic Jasper Personality: Contrary to his name, Crash Racket is much more introverted than the rest of his active and outgoing family. He is not shy by any means, he is simply a self-professed academic who just wants some peace and quiet. He reads a lot but lacks the critical thinking skills to actually evaluate what he reads. Thus, he sticks to material that supports what he already believes and tends to pick up problematic opinions from it. He thinks his reading makes him smarter than others and is quick to contradict others if they’re “wrong,” even if they have more experience than him. Crash needs to learn to be open to differing perspectives, and realize that just because you read a lot doesn’t necessarily mean you know a lot. Cutie Mark: A lightbulb brain, symbolizing his appreciation for the academic arts in their most pure form.
