Why do I talk so much about DOCUMENTING my journey? I never really questioned this much, I bought into the principle a couple years ago when I started posting on the socials. Today, I consider it one of the primary reasons I post. There is no doubt in my mind that I am ("going to become") someone whose story is just as valuable as they things that they offer in the present day, so let's document it as we go! I felt like I was saying something second-hand because I hear Gary Vee talk about this all the time & honestly, I felt like it was a little disingenuous... But a few days ago, I found some GEMS from my childhood in my parents basement and guess what, present self?? I've always had a propensity (I think I used that word right) to document things. It started when 9 year-old Zakkee documented the NFL playoffs in 1997: the year the Packers won the Super Bowl btw (see last pic) & when I converted from Cowboys fan to Packers fan! #Cheesehead4Life 🧀 I loved the NFL & wanted a piece of it all the time - including in my childhood drawings (more on that later), but when I saw this list of "Top 20 TV Shows on YTV" that I had documented for no reason, I knew it wasn't just about football. Something clicked for me. Now I know I'm doing something that I always felt called to do: document. I'm realizing how AMAZING and empowering it can be to step into my true self; things that I'm also realizing were predominant parts of my childhood... ...now to find the tape of jokes I made for my parents when I was a kid... 🤔😁 #StandUpComedianRoots https://www.instagram.com/p/CDKEZ7gpxJw/?igshid=1gssaedyp6t7w
