It wasn't often that My Melody happened across creatures that were smaller than she was. (Unless they were bugs.) So, when she happened to spot the mouse skittering around and trying to hide, she remained calm and quiet.

There's the scuffling and scratching of a little creature in the place he's carved out for himself (well, more like squatting, really), and he can't help but to stop what he's doing and listen. And he's listening carefully, falling almost completely silent, holding his breath, and waiting.

His eyes narrow, brow knitting, as his gaze drifts askance, as if that will better help him determine where the noise is coming from. This house was empty and suspiciously fully functional when he decided to use it as a shelter, and he's beginning to think he fell into a sort of benign trap.
