"Does the one with the cheekbones know that the prince is in love with him?"
A cheesy post in which I show my appreciation for Ben Whishaw..
I’ve always wanted to go to the theatre in London, I wanted to see Jude Law as Hamlet in 2010 but no one would take me, and I wanted to see Billie Piper and Laurence Fox perform even before that. Though I was always told it was too far and that I was too young to go. I loved theatre and acting, even though I wasn’t very good at it and I never really participated. Since 2006 I wanted to be an actress, I even applied for that competition thing to get a role in Doctor Who. After a while I sort of rejected the idea.
Then this year, I’d just come back from my first ever trip to London by myself, and previous to that I hadn’t been there for four years. I was watching the news and it was showing films that were coming out in the next week and there was a thing about Cloud Atlas. It mentioned Ben’s name and I remembered who he was as my mum had raved about how good he was in Skyfall. I googled him and looked through his filmography to see if I knew him from anything and I saw that he was doing a play. I freaked out. As soon I realised Judi Dench was in it it dawned on me that I could ask my Nan to take me as I knew how much she loved her. After a lot of persuading I managed to get tickets to my first ever west end show in London and I was so freaking excited. I counted down from like 84 days and everyday I would squeal and announce how excited I was. During that time I watched nearly all of Ben’s films and things and started using tumblr again. When I finally met him as most of you already know I gave him some of my artwork and he told me it was amazing, and I don’t think I will ever receive a compliment that I will value more than that. <3
It sounds really lame but because of Ben a whole new world has sort of opened up for me. I’ve been to London like eight times this year and I’ve seen seven west end shows. I never ever thought I would be doing that. I’m also applying to university in London when I never thought I would love a place so much that I’d want to move so far away from home. I’ve been introduced to so many new types of books, films and music from Ben’s own interests and his fans. I’ve met so many lovely people on here and it’s such a lovely tight-knit family and it’s so great. I don’t think I’ve ever admired someone so much and had someone to motivate and inspire me to do what I want to do. I honestly feel that if it wasn’t for him this year would have been pretty shitty, and that I’ll still be doing the same old thing that I didn’t particularly enjoy. I have so much to thank Mr. Ben Whishaw for and the sad thing is that this isn’t everything I wanted to say. :’) I’m gonna be quiet now, thank you if you’re still reading this! Basically, happy birthday Ben, you wonderful wonderful being. I wish you all the joy and happiness in the entire world.
