early concept for a younger mcmuesli design

in The Only Substantial Episode Chef McMuesli Has, he mentions to edward that he "used to be a lot like him", which, i think is partially some kind of meta joke about how he's being used in the episode in like a camp counselor/therapist role despite a lot of his other appearances having him lose his temper all the time, but, i've always wanted to Actually work with that little detail and have everything i just mentioned be a lot more on purpose instead of just how it turned out by the time of that episode's production when they needed a character to fill that role

so, i wanna take edward and have both lumpus and mcmuesli be kind of "reflections" of paths he realizes he could be going down as an adult, where lumpus becomes his worst self over the summers but mcmuesli at least is very focused on self improvement and trying to be a better and healthier person even if he also still has plenty of issues, and i think it'd be interesting for edward to latch onto earning lumpus' authorital approval, realizing he doesn't want it, and then actually ends up being more stuck around mcmuesli... who, speaking of,

i need to work on the design more as with everything since these drawings are several years old at this point, but, the idea here is that he was sort of a rebellious bad boy with a bad temper throughout his early adulthood before getting into therapy, going vegan, and working to improve himself and all that
