Friday Sunday Kiss Tag
Tagged by @willtheweaver... and I haven't actually written a kiss lately... so have the kiss scene from Late Night Hours to make up for it.
Read more'd because long/some people don't wanna see it

Starting this positivity train. Here's one of my faves.
woke up to rilke's first elegy slapping me across the face with its angel wings
so i'm gonna talk about my experience with writing again because it's the only thing i can think of to talk about today.
it's really interesting to me how fast i write when i get into the groove because my "in the groove" is actually extremely distracted by having the internet. i don't stop myself from obsessively checking tumblr and bsky while i'm writing because i will bore myself.
i'm bored basically all the time. i do not ever wish to do any particular thing, and so instead, i sit here refreshing my dash over and over.
but anyway, i do that while i'm writing too. i write a few sentences and then go check my dash and then write a few more sentences...i think this is an extremely inefficient way of writing. i think about times when my groove was focusing directly on the story and nothing else, when i could focus so well that it was like waking up when i stopped.
i don't get like that anymore! i don't know why. probably because i'm so rusty at writing. i know i'm struggling a bit with things like depression and motivation right now too.
but despite it all, this story is actually going really well. i'm taking my time with it (it's not a nanowrimo, after all), and i passed 10k words yesterday. usually when i do nanowrimo i want to get it over with as soon as possible, so i write 5k+ words a day if i can manage it. every spare moment of my day is spent writing. it's exhausting and i hate doing it. but i like saying "i did nanowrimo x amount of times" more than i hate doing nanowrimo i guess.
iirc nanowrimo shot itself in the head by allowing ai for some stupid reason anyway, but i have imposed the restrictions of it on myself during random times before. i don't restrict myself to november. i did two in one year once. that was a time.
i think the point was, though, that i still make a lot of progress, in spite of my boredom and nigh-obsessive checking of my dash. i aim for 1k a day, which feels positively leisurely.
