Personal chef Peter sending his boss flirting messages written on napkins just to see the older man smile. That's all he thought it would be until he got and envelope back one day with a note inside giving him the day and time for a date.

Getting a visit from a food critic would be nerve racking for any restaurant owner/chef. And when that critic was Tony Stark, a man whose praise or condemnation could make or break the venue he was reviewing, that pressure can easily double or even triple. And Peter was no exception. Luckily for him and his staff the meal went by without a hitch. And with a glowing review left by the older man business soon found itself going back to normal once everybody got used to the increased traffic the review generated.

So when Stark returned before even a whole month had passed Peter panicked. Wondering why he had returned so soon and what it meant for his restaurant. That was until the waiter serving him returned to the kitchen with a note meant for Peter. One with only a number and a comment to ' call me ; ) ' on it.

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things...FRUIT

We asked the Chefs what their favorite fruits were and here's what they had to say:

Chef Toby: Apples

Chef Fred: Melons, Cantaloupe in particular

Chef Peter: Fresh figs, but not from the US.” (He probably means freshly picked off the trees in Greece knowing Peter!)

Chef Joann: Blackberries

Chef Justin: Watermelon and Apples

Jumbo Love

If you ask Chef Peter (Carmichael) or Chef Joann (Dewick) what their favorite thing about working with Tufts Dining is, they’ll respond with a crazy cool answer: YOU! For many of our chefs, working around us Jumbos not only “keeps one young” but also adds an important sense of purpose to their cooking. As Chef Joann notes, “Eating is a huge part of feeling at home,” so our chefs know their crucial part in shaping our college experience. As for Chef Justin, one of his favorite things about the job is the knowledge and appreciation our community has for food. Chef Peter agrees, “Students know food… they know and appreciate the work. I’m very impressed by how much students know about food.” Eat on, Jumbos! And Jumbo Chefs, we love you too :)
