Brothers, sisters? Who do they like? Why? What do they despise about their siblings?
Kjerstie: None living. She had an older brother that she was very close with while growing up, but he was lost in an accident.
Marigosa: Plenty of brood-mates. None she’s particularly close with, but also none she doesn’t particularly not get along with either.
Faedria: The youngest of three sisters. She likes her eldest sister much more than the middle one, as her older sister is the only one in the family that necessarily treats her with any kind of respect. Still despises the fact that they can both use magic so easily.
Cotya: An older brother. They get along well enough, even if he’s not one to visit all that often. He’s a pretty big trouble-maker, and after their father kicked him out of the house they lost a lot of contact. They still get along alright when she does see him, but she does somewhat despise him for making their family smaller.
The rest of my characters don’t have any siblings.
30. Are they holding on to something in the past? Can he or she forgive?
Kjerstie: Biggest thing from Kee’s past she’s holding on to… Probably the memory of her brother. There’s not much for her to forgive, other than herself. And we all know that won’t happen anytime soon.
Marigosa: The events of both the Nexus War and Cataclysm. The Nexus War devastated her flight thanks to Malygos’ madness, and the results of Cataclysm further weakened her people to the point that their future is pretty much… Nonexistent. Yeah, she’s pretty upset about that.
Myrierlin: Heh… When Myrierlin believed her mate to be dead, she basically dedicated her life to hunting orcs in revenge. It consumed her. She kept trophies. Even now that she’s learned they survived the encounter, she still does it.
Vyrahla: There’s plenty from Vyra’s past to hang onto. But she’s normally a rather forgiving person.
Khaunii: Pretty much everything she can remember. She still hears the whispers. Everything about her is motivated by revenge, to try and make them stop…
Irende: Without spoiling too much, the chain of events that lead her to be discharged from the Wardens. Forgiveness is far from Irende’s mind - she’s far too impulsive for something that requires that much consideration.
Korinia: Does being killed and raised as an unholy abomination count? Because yeah, that.
Valoret: Val’s biggest problem is with herself and her own shortcomings - going feral, having to be locked away in the Dream, all of that. She can forgive it pretty easily now.
Carindia: Heh. Demon Hunter. Forgive. No.
Mirixia: Not really. She’s a pretty relaxed character.
Cotya: Most of Cotya’s problems stem from her bad decision making - everything seems like a good option at the time, but tends to bite her somehow. She beats herself up over it now and then, but tries to stay positive.
Faedria: Other than a petty need to prove she doesn’t need magic to be as impressive as the rest of her family, Fae is pretty forgiving.
39. What do they like to ridicule? What do they find stupid?
Kjerstie: Poor fighting, mostly from her enemies. Those who try to justify her opponents’ actions.
Marigosa: Poor or improper use of the arcane. Mortals…
Myrierlin: She can’t really ridicule anyone very well. But stick any city-dweller in the woods and she’ll be rolling her eyes at them.
Vyrahla: Pretty much anything that unnecessarily escalates conflict.
Khaunii: What doesn’t she find stupid? She’ll ridicule anything she can.
Irende: Poor decision making. Getting easily upset at trivial things.
Korinia: Not much ridicule. Korinia herself is usually understanding, while Veladrine finds most people to be idiots. This usually results in them keeping their mouth shut.
Valoret: Any disrespect of nature.
Carindia: Wasting time, unneeded distractions, disrespect of family.
Mirixia: She doesn’t really ridicule people much, but she finds close-mindedness to be very stupid.
Cotya: The biggest thing that she finds stupid is when people automatically accuse her or her demonic friends of being evil. That’s profiling!
Faedria: Fae will ridicule a lot of things, but she usually means it in a good-natured manner. The only thing she usually finds genuinely stupid is when people disrespect her or her alchemy.
43. Does your character have any secrets? If so, are they holding them back?
Kjerstie: Everyone has their secrets, but thanks to her friends Kee’s mostly gotten over them holding her back.
Marigosa: Well, usually she keeps her true identity hidden. I don’t know if that counts though.
Myrierlin: Biggest secret is probably that Myr isn’t completely mute - if she tries really hard, she can whisper. It hurts like hell though.
Vyrahla: Live as long as her and you’ll have your secrets too. She doesn’t let them hold her back though.
Khaunii: Her entire past is a secret. Even to her.
Irende: Most of her past. It’s not much of a secret that she used to be a Sentinel, but being a Warden is something she hasn’t really told anyone. Or why she left. It definitely holds her back some, as to everyone who knows her she’s just some ex-Sentinel with a gambling problem.
Korinia: Pretty much their entire situation. The fact that they’re two souls in one body - Korinia and Veladrine - is a closely guarded secret. The last thing either of them want is for some overzealous crusader to try and exorcise the banshee from her.
Valoret: She’s pretty open about most of her past, I haven’t developed her character enough for anything more in-depth.
Carindia: Most of her past. Her rocky relationship with her daughter is holding her back more than anything.
Mirixia: Plenty of secrets, but nothing she lets hold her back.
Cotya: She usually has to keep her fel studies secret, since most people frown upon such things. It would be so much easier if she could act out in the open.
Faedria: Secrets sure. Secret recipes, her secret tests on unwitting subjects, even the fact that she usually sells potions unlicensed and under the table. I’d say it hardly holds her back though.
