“Cheshire!” Jakub called as he set out the recently purchased groceries. “Lunch?”
Laughter came from the next room. “In a minute!”
Jakub frowned, investigating. Cheshie was stretched on the sofa, reading a thin book. He grinned and laughed with every turn of the page.
“What’s that?” Jakub asked.
“Just some serial.” Cheshire showed off the cover’s colorful caricatures. “It’s hilarious. Sorry, I’m almost done.”
He continued to giggle, and after a moment Jakub climbed onto the sofa, stretching overtop him.
“Should I read it to you?”
“No, thanks.” Jakub closed his eyes, smiling into his chest every time he laughed.
