right now im just trying to practice and get the hang of knitting. my problem right now it trying to get the string to the other needle. any suggestions or tutorial recommendations? thanks!

Hmmm.... Are you doing continental or English knitting? I do continental (where you move your yarn from the left needle to the right needle). I recommend looking at youtube videos if you want to see how it works. I learned how to cast on using youtube videos, so you can just type in "How to make a knit stitch english/continental style.

If you need more specific advice, don't be afraid to ask me ^^
