More Portal AU thoughts! I really like the thought of Abigail being in the position of Doug Rattman. Narrowly evading GLaDashi's extermination of the labs and doing her best to make sure that Hiro is moved up to be the first test subject- because maybe he can get through to what is left of Tadashi's consciousness. Hallucinations may occur. I hope to write the AU in the future! There's so much that can be done with it. :)

She and Krei-core had a history, which is how Krei finds Hiro and wakes him up during the whole “Portal 2″ plot. Only she never expected him to go completely power crazy like he did when she sent him after Hiro.

Portal AU: for the Wheatly/ID core, what about Krei playing that role? Like something happened that made Callaghan or one of the scientists download Krei's consciousness into the core, maybe out of revenge and spite to make him a complete idiot? Later, the core would be used to try to keep GLaDashi under control and Krei was discarded until he busts Hiro out to escape, only remembering his name being Al.

Don’t you mean EI? Like, half of Krei? And then for some reason he thinks he’s Canadian and he pronounces it “Eh-Ai?” so it still sounds like AI and yeah, I don’t know where I was going with that.

But that still means potato!GLaDashi would happen, and that is simultaneously funny and hilarious, so *thumbs up* Especially because that means the brothers will eventually have to team up again to survive when KrEI goes power-crazy.

Portal AU: The Nerd Herd are the cores for a specific reason. After Tadashi went missing and Aperture glossed over an explanation, they each went digging due to the suspicious nature of what happened. This prompts Aperture to download their minds into personality cores to keep them quiet. They're eventually deemed corrupted cores because when attached to Tadashi, they only help him rather than hinder him.

AAAAH WHAT, YOU’RE MAKING THIS SADDER NOW? AAAAAAAH

Because unless they’ve been removed from GLaDashi and he’s had other personality cores attached, they’re the ones that Hiro will have to throw into the fire to weaken GLaDashi to escape. Nooope

(Or maybe they DID get removed and shoved into storage, and Hiro stumbles upon them when he’s trying to escape the enrichment center, and so he takes them all with him. I don’t know how, because there’s no way he can carry all of them, but he’s bringin them. Maybe he manages to get them up on the tracks Wheatley uses. Or maybe he somehow downloads all of them into one single core that he can carry around. And they all complain the whole time about how squishy it is even though they’re data, it’s not like they’re taking up physical space, guys. And then Hiro has buddies to travel with him, companions if you will, while he takes on the enrichment center. In between sarcastic commentary and squabbling among themselves, they give him advice and help him solve puzzles)

For the Portal AU: the most painful part would be Potato!GLaDashi remembering who he was before getting his mind uploaded into a killer death machine... And then remembering getting put into GLaDOS machine in the first place- by force.

Okay first of all how dare you.

Second of all, UUUUGH YES IT WOULD SUCK. Because GLaDashi would eventually have to be returned to his position as controller of the Enrichment Center so they can stop Wheatley from like, destroying the world, which means even after remembering who he was and who Hiro is to him, he still gets separated from Hiro. And then if he goes and deletes himself??? AND HIRO IS THERE WATCHING THIS????

Just take the potato and run, Hiro. Just run. It will save us all so much heartache.

I've seen a few ideas for a Portal AU with GLaDOS!Tadashi and I fully support the idea, but with a few changes. Like what if Hiro was the test subject and the voice of GLaDOS sounds suspiciously familiar to him yet the robot doesn't allow him to speak so he's always silent while testing, only talking to himself. Only when he finds out that GLaDOS wants to kill him he starts talking to him and the robot has some malfunctions and gets angrier because Hiro's voice sounds too familiar to him.

*makes sad noises while flailing*

Because, like, OH MY GOD HIRO’S GOING TO FIND OUT. He’s gonna beat all the tests and traps and whatever GLaDashi can throw at him because he KNOWS his brother, knows how he thinks. It’s easy for him to predict what’s coming, even if he doesn’t know WHY it’s so familiar.

But then he makes it to the center. Then he sees what Aperture Science did to his brother.

OH MY GOD WHAT WOULD GLaDashi DO??? Because like, he wants to kill all the squishy organic humans after what was done to him, but it’s HIRO. TURMOIL. He’d probably have to ditch all of his old personality and love for Hiro into a personality core so he could fight Hiro properly, and then HIRO WOULD BURN IT DURING THE FIGHT AND AAAAAAAAH HE ESSENTIALLY KILLS HIS BROTHER BECAUSE HE CAN’T STOP WHAT TADASHI HAS BECOME AND HE NEEDS TO ESCAPE AAAAAAAH.

(or somehow he kidnaps the personality core containing Tadashi’s old personality and escapes with him, after destroying GLaDashi. And so he gets his brother back, albeit as a personality core. They can work with that)
