Chembra Peak trek: The Zion for a travel enthusiast

Do you have #trekking up your sleeves for the first time? In that case, the Chembra Peak (2,100 m above sea level) is a good deal! You’ll have hibbi-jibbie’s as you read on. Waynad hill range has #chembra peak as its #peak. This Western Ghats range is actually pretty close to Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiri Hills. It hardly takes 4 hours to complete the #trek. Any time between September to February is a good time for the ascend. Meppadi forms the base camp for this adventure trek-trail.

The cloud-engulfed peak is encircled by rolling tea and coffee gardens. The panoramic view that you’ll get of the region, once you reach the peak, is enthralling. The picturesque heart-shaped (hridayathadakam) #chembra #lake atop the hill is like cherry on top. Did you know that it never dries up? The rising and falling landscape will definitely satiate your thirst for adventure but, in an easy way!

Don’t forget to take the permit for the trek from Meppady Forest Office and avoid the slippery monsoons! The nearby 3 tired Sentinel Rock Waterfall is also worth a visit after completing the trek!
