My eldest daughter is a prolific knitter, but right now she can’t knit because last week she hairline-fractured her left wrist (and she is left handed). Truly my kid. Her best friend’s mom is going through chemo, and is starting to lose her hair. So I’m pitching in, with hopefully 3-4 lightweight hats she can wear through our hot, hot summers.
Here is the first of the chemo caps. I cast it on Wednesday night, knitted it yesterday, and did the crown decreases this morning. There’s a pattern of lace just before the crown, and the crown decreases include yarn overs, so it won’t be too hot to wear, here in our already-warming-up American South.
The yarns are DK weight in acrylic, plus some Stroll DK (for the stuck-out tongue).
Nothing major but just a genderfluid flag-colored hat I knitted to go with the blanket version I made. ^_^

Cat Cat Bolwer Hat..... And Mask
I was asked by a friend of mine to make a cat hat for a special little cancer fighter.
Now I hate cancer, far too many people I love have had to fight it. So I’m always up to try and bring a moment of happiness, sillyness, or a smile to cancer fighter if I can.
The request was to make a cat hat, that wasn’t too “conventional”.
I came across this pattern, and modified it a bit, so that she could have a cat bowler hat, but on days she needed a little something extra, she could roll the brim down, and become the “Kitty Cat Avenger!”
Here’s hoping she likes it, and that maybe it will help her smile a little.
