Tiny Review: Hero 2002. Poetic sword and brush.

When I first watched it a long time ago, the ending disappointed me. All that build up, and for what?

Watching it now, I understand it’s a reminder of might makes right, and that power is a complex balance between goals and costs.

I still think the movie is melodrama though 😂

Nitpick: The ending could have signaled better that the king was deeply affected by the entire ordeal. Maybe with a monolog promise that the world will be peaceful after unification under his rule. That he too pays the cost of world peace with eternal loneliness and fear of assassinations.
