submitted prompt: Foreigners don't know about you, Hawkmoth.

I think I saw a little plot hole, and I want to fix it.

Happens in “Kung Food” because hawkmoth is quite possibly a racist moron, and the writers are racist morons.

Wang Cheng, <arinette’s great-uncle was feeling down, sad because well, he lost.

He was so pround of the recipe that he made, in honor of Marinette, only to be sabotaged by that kid.

He didn’t see the Akuma that entered into his chef hat, and he heard a voice in his head.

“Kung Food, I am Hawkmoth, and I-”

He got cut off with an annoyed sigh.

“Okay, first of all, get out of my head, you hypnotist. I don’t have time for you. Secondly, Kung Food, who’s that? Me? Is that some sort of pun for me being a master chef? Also sorry to tell you, but, just because I am asian doesn’t mean I know kung fu, get your facts straight.”

Hawkmoth was thown off by the rant of the guy, but quickly regained his bearings.

“Ok, fine, I’ll find another name, but I have a deal.”

Now, had Wang Cheng known about hawkmoth, he would have refused here, but because he just came to Paris, he didn’t know about the supervillain or the superheroes and their battles, so he told him to continue.

“I am hawkmoth, as I said and I want to give you power to get revenge by making you an akuma, and all I need is to bring me the miraculous jewels of Ladybug and Chat Noir.”

Wang Cheng was more confused and pissed at that.

“So you, a hypnotist, want me to possibly steal some national and unique rare jewelry and in return, I get to harm a little spoiled brat? This deal makes no sense to me. And are you serious in trying to turn me into a devil!?”

How dare this hypnotist call him a devil!?

“Get the hell out of my head, NOW!”

His anger surprised the supervillain who fell to the ground as the butterfly escaped from the hat.

Meanwhile, Wang Cheng tried to calm down.

As he did, he remembered his loss, and slowly sadness returned.

They had spread his embarrassing loss on the tv, he saw that they had cameras there…

Wait.

That’s it!

There were cameras watching him making the soup! Now he can just convince people to look at the videos and see wether he was sabotaged or not!

He returned with new fire in his eyes.

Spoiler: Chloe’s sabotage got discovered, and she was kicked from the place for the sake of a fair chance for Wang Chef, and he made a brillant success.

Now, a little rant:

One thing I saw is that some of the foreigners seem to just, act as if they know about the heroes and hawkmoth, somehow, even though the show doesn’t hint at all that hawkmoth’s existance is a worldwide knowledge.

Like, we are told that superheores always exist (if we take the new york episodes at face value), but why aren’t they simply coming to Paris and simply crush hawkmoth en masse if they knew about him? Therefore we can conclude that there are no heroes and that foreigners don’t know about hawkmoth (which is absurd seeing that some of his akumas would have wiped the world, but oh well, continuity was never a strong point to this show)

But if they don’t know about the supers in paris, then why do they act as if it’s normal to have a voice enter your head, and somehow know exactly what the villain want?

And why aren’t they annoyed at some of the names hawkmoth picks for them?

Like, “oni-chan” in japanese means “Brother”, why kagami accepts that name is never explained, unless there’s something the writers are hiding about kagami, but this will be giving them too much credit.
