mdzscherie 【or as my friend calls her zhao ying but please dont use that name】 belongs to the lanling jin sect. she found yanli heartbroken after her and jin zixuan's arranged marriage was dissolved and their friendship bloomed from there. she and yanli over their shared interests and help eachother cultivate. cherie fights using a gold pleated folding fan and excels at speed and agility, often training on stamina. cherie's setbacks include a lack of strength and unusual weapon. she uses a fan which can separate to shoot out a poison deadly to corpses and rarely relies on her sword.
...unfortunately when her sect finds out, courtesy of jin guangyao／meng yao, cherie is sent into hiding upon jin guangshan's orders without getting a word to yanli. this leaves yanli in despair and zixuan finally decides to get his shit together and properly court yanli, having realised that his heart craves her.
...ultimately, jiang yanli dies trying to protect wei wuxian and cherie, overcome with grief decides to protect her son jin rulan as her last act of love towards yanli. in doing so cherie grows a bond with jiang cheng, developing feelings for him.
