Cheongsando Slow Walk Festival 2016
Cheongsando is located at Wando County, Jeollanam-do, and also the world’s first “Slow Road” where you can start with your healthy walks at the Cheongsando Slow Walk Festival. This year, this festival is taking place from the 1st April ~ 30th April and it has been around for 5 years ever since 2011 with 11 walking trails, stretching out as far as 42km.
The purpose of Cheongsando Slow Walking Festival being held is to help slow down the fast pace of our life to go along with nature’s pace. As you walk down the paths, do remember to collect the stamps to receive a certificate and gifts! Don’t walk too fast or you might miss 1 stamp and you get nothing at the end. However, being surrounded by an island, and with the beautiful scenery of the vast barley fields and canola fields along the paths, I bet you won’t be able to move your pace faster as you’ll be charmed by the beauty of the nature on offer.
During this festival, not only you can exercise, you even get to participate in cultural events and exhibitions while succumbing your views in the spring scenery. You can also enjoy open air concerts and sample some slow food. If you are looking for a place to escape the hustle bustle city life, Cheongsando is the place you would want to have in mind!
