Fantasy Fashion: Asian Traditional
Asia is a continent of many nations and styles. To the western eyes these fashions can draw you into what seems like a fantasy world. Here are a few (only a handful, there are thousands of choices) traditional wear from China, Japan, Korea and India.
Cheongsham
The cheongsam is a Chinese dress for women. It has a high neckline and short sleeves. It can have a long or short skirt.
Hanbok
This is Korean dress. The dress is simple yet vibrant.
Kimono
The famous traditional clothing of Japan. It can be quite hard to walk in but it is an elegant piece of clothing. There are different kinds of kimono for occasions : furisodé and tomesodé are formal. These an be any colour you like. Men's are usually black.
Sari
Sari is a famous traditional clothing for Indian women. Made of six metres or more of material is is wound around a body and stitched to a choli, a kind of shirt.
