I’ve mentioned how much I admire the expressiveness of your drawings of hands but it really jumps out in that panel of Kim. Even though her face is totally obscured, the tension in her hands and the way they push the skin on her forehead convey her emotions perfectly.
thank you! this comment reminds me of when somebody differentiated between lola looking away from the camera, and then there was lola Looking Away from the Camera in drop-out
a very silly question, but have you ever thought about what supreme factures any of your characters would have if they lived in the NOFNA universe?
i have actually yeah, although i’ve lost a lot of interest in imagining nofna styles anymore because it’s pretty clear zack doesn’t care about the sorta… “rules” he originally had. way back in the day, there was a forum for nofna, which is still up, but people made fan characters to role play – those were moved to a different forum, which doesn’t exist anymore. on THAT forum, he specified several guidelines for MAKING a nofna fan character, and the one i remember the most is about how you can either be good at Art or good at DENYING art, but you can’t be both. so now that all of the styles are basically who can scream the loudest as a mouthpiece, it’s lost its challenge to be able to make one. but a few i did think up at least partially

a words book or a comic book?
words book for sure... i already count the anthology comic as published work but it’s about respectability anyway and comics are never respectable

blew my mind as a kid to realize the analogous truth about binary encoding in computers; an “zero/empty” bit encodes as much info as a “one” bit.
i did think about comparing it to the 0′s in binary! but i’m trying not to compare brains to computers so much anymore

Have you considered studying mathematics? Many people get turned off from mathematics because it’s taught very badly in schools, but there are fields abstracted enough from quotidian arithmetic that they feel more like puzzle games than “math”. I recommend Topology without Tears, which also contains a decent introduction to proof methods and an overview of cardinality (there are different sizes of infinity!)
have considered; am also turned off from it because compulsory education does indeed teach math as shittily as possible
