I didn’t officially join the How to Train Your Dragon fandom until late 2017. I knew the first HTTYD movie by heart, because one of my siblings would watch it frequently, but I wasn’t fully immersed. Then my siblings and I were watching HTTYD 2 one day and I finally paid attention to the “Based on the How to Train Your Dragon books by Cressida Cowell”. I read the books in the span of a summer, and squealed when I saw the thank you note to Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, and I believe it was either Dean DeBlois or Craig Ferguson, or both written at the back of the final book. I also watched Dragon’s Race to the Edge during that time, and as each season was released I got pulled deeper into HTTYD. After the sixth season came out in 2018, I was hooked. And have been ever since. I can’t shake it. It’s my ultimate favorite fandom.
