- You are okay, you'll get. - Cherrie's strong voice encouraged me, she was smiling.
I nodded and tried to smile, but only a side of my mouth followed my command. I take a deep breath and Cherrie put my hair forward, and ran her hand through my bangs. She smiled and whispered "go". I winced, but went ahead and entered the office.
- Oh, sweetie, you are here. - Just his voice made me shiver. Of fear, of course.
Richard stood up to see me and came to me. He wrapped his arms around my body and I gasped. He fixed his black eyes on me and I touched his face. Was so that Cherrie told me to do, and it was exactly the reaction she would have described, he had. He moaned and touched my hair. I made everything possible not to make a disgusted face, had to be perfect.
- Do you love me? - I mumbled, sure of his answer.
- Of courrse. - Your accent is not fooling me, he spoke the truth.
- Let me go. - I begged and his face changed expression.
His arms were strong around my waist and I felt the rage taking him. I wanted to go, wanted to escape. Had to be quick now. I went a hand to my leg, Cherrie's dagger was safe, he would not touch. I would be faster than him. Had to be.
- Never. You're mine. - He whispered, and climbed his hands to my face, looking at my mouth.
I pulled the knife and stabbed once in his hand. He moaned in agony, and I dropped to the ground. He was lying in a corner of the room with blood dripping and I crawled to him to get the key. Almost tripped on his leg when I got close enough to get the key in his neck, but I just pulled it.
- No, bitch, you are mine! - He shouted and pulled my hand.
I dug the knife in him again, this time on the right side of his chest, and he released me to put his hand on his chest. I got up and ran to the door, but stopped to watch him writhe in pain.
- I will never be yours, you idiot. - I whispered and his eyes stopped on my face.
He would not keep efforts to kill me if he survived. I was breathing with difficulty, was too much adrenaline. I put the knife in boot and started running, stopping only to pull Cherrie with me.
- You put the knife in the right place? - She said, running.
I nodded, and looked around, the sign had not been given yet. And neither fire.
- Where's the damn fire?! - I cried, and Cherrie shut me up, putting her hand to my mouth.
She looked at me and pointed down the hall with her head. Was on fire. Roxie succeeded. She succeeded. I smiled slightly and waited for Richard's men trying to extinguish the fire. Two came: Roger and Mario, and they focused so much on fire, that they have not seen us.
- The fire extinguishers will not work. - Cherrie said.
She looked sideways at the corridor behind us and I remembered that I had . I could not count how many, but I knew that Aphrodite would be with Cherrie , Artemis always be with me and Apollo too. Apollo owed me favors, he had to keep them now. I looked back and realized the fire spreading. I smiled. "We are agreed, sun's God," I thanked him in thought.
- Thanks to Gods, you mean! - I muttered, and we stopped at once, almost falling.
- The key, Amy, the fucking key, where is she? - She almost screamed as I was looking for the key in the pocket.
I gasped as he felt the cold current, there was the shiny key. I stuck it in the exit door and Cherrie turned her head back, the steps approached more and more. The door opened and I started to walk, it was the freedom, I could see the light again. But Cherrie was standing. And I could see the men of Richard approached, they ran toward us.
- Cherrie, c'mom, Cherry! - I pulled her, but she remained stagnant. And she smiled.
- No, Amy, I'm wont.
- WHAT? NO, RUN, CHERRY, WE STILL CAN SCAPE!
- You will. - She muttered, and took the bag of herback, giving me their belongings. - Lee is waiting for you, Amy. Now go. GO!
I looked up, Richard was running even with pain, he had that look possessed. I looked to Cherrie, she was coming back, just leaving me, after all our work to escape, she was just leaving. She has not looked back, but I could feel life coming off of her little by little.
I can not look too long, Richard was behind me, not her. Hold the bag of Cherrie and ran out of that damn place. A red car was parked outside, and the strange thing is that I had never seen before, and I know all the cars of employees of Richard.
- Hey, Luny, still remember me? - The voice I wanted to hear out of the car , and Lee's smile brightened the whole parking
I ran to him and just threw myself into the passenger seat, shouting that he ran. I looked back and saw my only friend, giving her last smile.
