Their Importance: There’s very little media that even mentions personality disorders, let alone have non-evil characters who have redeeming qualities and are capable of development. Superego focuses on a group of patients trying to fight their way out of a simulation designed to make them confront their issues. Most of them manage to pull together, recognizing their unhealthy coping mechanisms and the life circumstances that created them. It’s a more realistically psychological process rather than just having them “decide to be positive”. Considering that most people have never heard of personality disorders it’s pretty beneficial.
