“Remember this,” he says, “you stuck it out the longest.”
“Do you mean I knew you best?”
“Possibly.”
- Cherry Wilder, “Dreamwood”, from Isaac Asimov’s Cyberdreams
Legend by Cherry Wilder
Far in the north a maiden lies, Deep in the ice her flesh like pearl Burns through the still blue crevices, Binding the brittle region round With hidden warmth.
She lies asleep, And all the waste bends o'er head. Crusted with rime the frozen trees Lean down their boughs. The tortured stone Heaves up the weight of ice and snow, While gelid waters underground Pulse through the night without a sound.
But twice within a thousand years The link-mailed feet of paladins Rang through those caves of singing stone, The crisp snow churned about their heels, Their nimble blades chipped at the ice, With no man bold to speak a word, Only the ringing metal cried, Splintered upon the air and died. Then whiteness filled their purblind eyes, And out they stumbled, half-alive, The jealous waste caught at their breath, Rolled in the mighty gusts of cold, Leaving the desert to its love.
So let this endless time conspire To fold my love in its embrace.

Internship Stuff
So I officially did a thing for my internship: http://jimfrenkel.wix.com/james-frenkel-assoc#!Welcome-to-the-Chameln/crdc/564cc9b60cf2780ba4450fd5
I wrote a blog post! This one is about A Princess of the Chameln, which was released in e-book for the first time on November 17th. It’s the first of the Rulers of Hylor trilogy and this post contains my feelings towards the characterization of women in the book.
I’ll be writing more, but in the future :D Still excited that I did a thing!
More Writing/Internship Stuff
Well, first off: the re-release of Cherry Wilder’s book, A Princess of the Chameln is less than 2 weeks away! At my internship office, we’re working hard, digging through the bowels of the internet, to find bloggers and people to read and review Cherry’s book. Jim’s still editing my blog post about the book (which I admit is a good thing since I’m not the best when it comes to first drafts) and I can’t wait to get it up here. There’s a lot more to releasing a book than I thought. All of this advertising and generating buzz, it’s intense. But it’s giving me a good look into marketing/promotion/etc in case I ever decide to go the self-publishing route. We’ll see.
Also, Pillars is nearing completion! I’ve only got about 6.6 chapters left to write, but my deadline is the 15th! Granted, I do have some wiggle room, but I want to make this deadline. It’ll be a great test to see if I can do it in the future when it comes to my writing. Also, Professor Kuka gave me some REALLY EPIC advice on how to re-write a scene that just wasn’t flowing right and now I’m super stoked to do so. It’s seriously like something out of a horror movie, I’m so excited, cause I’ve never written anything even remotely close to horror or anything like that so this’ll be a good test.
Hopefully once Pillars is done, I can start futzing with some artwork. Reference images and the like. Maybe finally finish that map.
First I have to get through my Japanese test this Friday. *Cue screeching*
