So I’m slowly getting into making art again. This style is more cartoony which is what I’ve been doing more because I put less pressure on myself in this style. Anyways this is technically the Cherry portion of a piece I did with V. But he’s still secret so I couldn’t post it. If you know who he is or I told you, if you send me a PM I can show you! But Cherry looked too cute to not post. Also yes this is Valentine’s Day art. Yes it’s almost April. You know what? V and Cherry are obsessed with each other all year long. Did I make a fankid for P2 CherryV despite the fact that, objectively, V would be a terrible father? Yes, yes I did.

IN MY DEFENSE—it’s an AU. And honestly he’s so full of himself he’d probably loveeeee having a daughter because of the idea of “being a father” and his public image, yadda yadda. And she’s half him, which…yeah. But it’s okay because Cherry is actually a good mom despite everything and also, it’s fun to think about V trying to be a dad.

There are some canon scenes in the show where V isn’t paying attention to other characters + looking at his phone and I’m just thinking…he must be looking at/texting Cherry 🤭❤️

In the first episode the first frame of him is him looking off to the side smiling while the other characters are in frame, so it can’t be them. So what are you smiling at, V?

I’m like… for my lil old ship? 🥹 And this was before I told you who he was and still you NAILED it with the songs without knowing the source so I’m like. super impressed. I picked out some lyrics from both songs to analyze because oof. YES they are cherryv

Okay so this one. I totally think it fits because V is a villain character sans tragic backstory. He’s a bad person and he knows it. I can totally see this being his inner thoughts about Cherry or even his voice haunting her from the grave…

This section gives P1 and P2 for different reasons. P2 because Cherry DOES follow him down, so to speak but it’s to get justice against him only to almost get sucked in again. P1 because there, the two are “partners”, or so she thinks, in solving the murders HE’S responsible for. She’s under this false pretense that he’s with her 100%. And when she realizes he isn’t, the damage has been done.

For this song—Dying for You (again. how did you pick a song with such an apropos title) I like this part because of the drink you twice line. Cherry has been burned by him already in P1, yet she still comes back to him in P2, even if it is to ruin him.

And the falling on my sword part…OOF it hurts me. Because Cherry in some way DOES take responsibility for the deaths V causes, even if she had no part in them. She thinks if she hadn’t been so blindly in love she would have been able to crack the case…which is why in P1 after he’s gone she becomes a shell of her former self. I do want to talk about that version of Cherise because she’s so interesting to me. My poor emotionally tortured detective.

3. Does your f/o have a love interest in canon? How do you navigate around that with your selfship and s/i?

He sure does, and he sucks. I’m not even saying that because he was on the Ships List that we all collectively ignored and I’m being petty, he objectively sucks, no matter how much the source woobifies him! V also has a one sided thing with another character which I don’t consider canon, regardless of every fan artist seeming to ship it 🫩

Aside from that, I literally do not care about that, because V’s basically friends-with-benefits with him despite the other guy wanting more. However, in my ship, once he meets Cherry again in P2, it’s game over. He and Cherry have so much history and a connection that’s so strong, the “canon” love interests kind of fall flat in my mind. Cherry is the closest thing to love he’s had.

4. Does your s/i meet your f/o before, during, or after canon?

Before canon, in P1! We see a flashback to P1, but they re-meet as strangers in P2. However, if you mean when the series begins, at that point they already know each other/ Cherry is already “working” for him, as Violet.
