sorry i haven't been mistborning btw. mostly i'm just sad about vin. that's a baby. that's a baaaaaby!! she's 16!! she's out here snatching extra food, making sure to have one set aside for when she thinks she'll inevitably thrown to the street and i'm llke. girl!!

you have 7 dads now!! kelsier is dad prime, obviously /j please please please trust in your crime family this one (1) time. they're including you for a reason you HAVE to be slightly less paranoid (i do not blame her but it just makes me sad okay :( that's my daughter)

for clarity's sake i do not think we've founded the family yet nor do i think kelsier would be an actual good father figure for vin. but. i DO strongly believe in weird uncle kelsier agenda. anyways i'm getting back to it

okay immediate first impression of vin is that she’s an edgy 16 year old!! which she is. and has good reason to be; her brother abandoned her in a criminal gang?? she annoys me a little the same way kaladin annoyed me when i first started reading the way of kings which bodes well. but also she’s an Empath (jazz hands) yaaaay.

kelsier i do not know how to feel about yet because i am literally on chapter 1. he’s okay i guess. i don’t trust him BUT i am glad he killed tresting ^^ we are handshaking on this. kelsier gets one (1) handshake from me for that which i assume will increase over time

i only know a little bit about mistborn so i’m making the assumption that the little chapter prefaces are from lord ruler. if i’m right i’m right, if i’m wrong… i guess i’ll find out eventually!! no spoilers. obviously.

@crazy-lizard-lover you asked about my thoughts on the crew and i was like down and out w/out braincells due to illness the past few days. also i have a lot to say so its going to be its own post!! so here are my thoughts on our motley thieves so far as of. like page 150ish

vin: currently my second favorite & recently dethroned. i have a hard time seeing her as anything other than, like, 14 to 16-year-old me. i'll spare you the sob story but i also was going through it in huge ways albeit with a home. where vin craves security i craved freedom so our cages are opposite!! can't wait for her to wear fancy dresses

kelsier: papa prime. currently i'm watching gachiakuta w/ my boyfriend so my vision of him is like a weird mix of said boyfriend & enjin gachiakuta. he's a decent enough mentor figure despite the probable minor lead poisoning thing he has got going on. my current handshake (things i agree w/ him doing) counter is sitting at 4 and my thumbs down (things i don't agree w/ him doing) counter is sitting at 2 if that helps

breeze: this is like if a theater twink had too much power altogether. i do respect the hell out of him for immediately trying to pull a fast one on vin the first time they met but also please stop trying to manipulate the sixteen year old abuse victim!! this is the frat boy party uncle of the crew

ham: "you are a regular guy. you can enter a space. you are a regular guy. you can enter a room. you are a regular guy. you can do that transaction, etc." except ham IS that regular guy. ham is special to me only because he's also looking out for vin in his own way <3 can you tell that i want vin to be well.

clubs: the only person in the crew with a half-decent cover story. quite possibly the most functional person there, except for...

sazed: my new favorite!! whatever the hell he has going on is incredibly interesting. he's funny and he's teaching vin important things and he wants her to be well adjusted. everything i could've ever hoped for in a new crew member!!

i am about halfway done with everything is tuberculosis (which has been very good and interesting so far) which MEANS that i’ll be done with my personal challenge books halfway into the month. and this means i have the chance to do something incredibly funny:

i could, potentially, attempt to finish mistborn era 1 before my boyfriend. now, he started the third book about a week ago, which normally would be an obstacle. HOWEVER. he is a very slow reader and i am a very fast reader. i’ve been averaging a book about every 3 days or so this month so i think i could do it!!
