There is nothing “baffling” about it, Anon. EVERYONE makes heart eyes at Sam, female or male, because the man is an angel on Earth, sent from Heaven above--directly. Truly. He is not of this world. I mean just look at him, I DARE anyone who is in his vicinity to NOT make heart eyes around him, it is a near physical impossibility.
When I saw him at Paley Fest in Los Angeles a few years ago, I could swear I heard a choir of cherubs singing and there was a faint golden halo around his head. I’m being serious. No, really. Granted I’d had a couple of glasses of wine at lunch prior, but still. :-) The man is CHARM personified. It’s hard to not smile and look all googly eyed around him...however, that does not mean that any romantic feelings are involved. If Cait makes heart eyes at Sam it’s just because no one can not be smiley-eyed around him. It’s his GIFT. We all receive different gifts, and Sam’s gift is that everyone makes heart eyes at him. Simple as that. It’s a thing. Look it up. :-)
PS. It’s the same gift that Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau has. Look at any pictures of anyone looking at Trudeau, even Trump, and they ALL look at him like he hung the moon and the stars. Sam has the same gift. I call it the “charm effect,” the “halo effect,” “the heart eyes effect,” the “you are not of this world effect” take your pick, but it is rare, and only bestowed on a few lucky souls. Sam Heughan and Justin Trudeau are two of the chosen ones.
