Shules. Canon: "We could…take a nap together?”

Hi! So, I’m sure you sent this ask forever ago, and I’m really sorry for not answering! But I wanted to write shules baby fluff today and this prompt seemed like a good choice. Set post-LCH, but no spoilers.

Shawn looks down at his sleeping daughter, who looks so peaceful and angelic when she’s curled up in the baby rocker instead of screaming her head off. “She’s asleep,” he says, barely believing it.

Juliet, too, wears a look of shock, glancing from their five-month-old to the unused teething toy in her hand. “Just... just like that. You gave her a bottle, and she fell asleep before finishing it, and when you put her in the chair she didn’t even wake up.”

“Wow.” He can’t take his eyes off the miracle in front of him. “I guess refrigerating the bottle nipples really does help teething.”

Juliet nods, a grin breaking across her face. “I will pump breastmilk 24/7 if this is what it gets me.” 

After another long moment of staring at the sleeping baby, they look up, the spell breaking. Juliet rolls her neck around like she’s working out a crick. “So... what should we do now?”

Shawn looks around, his gaze flitting over baby toys scattered around and laundry somewhere between dirty and clean strewn over their furniture. There’s a layer of dust on the mantel, and old food stains stuck to the coffee table. Starfish lies on the floor by her dog bed, no doubt shedding up a storm as she chews on her nylabone (all squeaky toys had been removed from the house before Delilah had even been brought home from the hospital). 

He looks back at Juliet. “We could... take a nap together?”

His wife laughs, louder and harder than he’s seen in a while. Though she stifles the sound in thought of the sleeping baby, when she meets his eyes her blue ones twinkle with mirth. “You’re kidding, right? It’s been literal weeks since we did a single household chore. Do you want laundry duty or kitchen patrol?”

“Jules, I’m serious.” He takes her hands, holding her with him before she can start picking up the mess around the living room. “You’re amazing and beautiful and I love you, but you’re beginning to resemble a raccoon with those circles under your eyes. I’m not sure I even remember what it feels like to lie down in our bed. We could both use a good cuddle, and as much of a nap as we can get. Let’s just let the funky robo-seat keep Delilah asleep, and we can plug in the baby monitor and fall asleep together for the first time in, like, months.”

For a moment he thinks she’s going to protest, but a smile curves over her lips and she moves closer to press a kiss to his cheek. “You’re right, Shawn. I guess the chores can wait.” She only lets go of one of his hands to pick up their side of the baby monitor. “And since you promised cuddles, I think I can let the raccoon comment go.”

Shawn laughs, a full-chested sound, and pulls her in, wrapping his arms around her from behind and pressing a wet kiss to her neck. “Jules, you’re the only raccoon I could ever love.”

they have nice baths together ! 🛀 the showers are one thing..but when they’re in hotels and have a little time then baek makes them big bubbly/glittery baths to share * ^* for nice snugs and back rubs and playing with bubbles and maybe tum smushes ! depends how big the tub is and how they fit kdjs and maybe some other thiiings and soo drying baek’s hair and smiling while he happy-wiggles~ and if baek’s behaved (more like if there’s time :P baek is always good, ofc~) then snuggles in fluffy robes💕
