Yo, important question(s)
Originally, for the chess!au I put together, I have Mycroft as the “King” and Sherlock as the “Queen”, however, I got to thinking about it, and the Queen technically has more power than the King on the board. That piece can go wherever they please (to a point, obvs) and to me, that sounds more like Mycroft than Sherlock. We don’t know the extent of Mycroft’s power but we can see the effects of it, kind of how I imagine the Queen piece to act if it were a living being.
The King is more of a figurehead, whether they want to believe it or not, and they need more protection than they realize/care to admit. The King has flexibility in which direction they want to go in, but their leash is limited to one space. Despite Sherlock’s front, he really does need more help than he would like to admit to, aside from that of his blogger.
Do you think I should switch Mycroft and Sherlock’s roles and make Mycroft the “Queen” piece and Sherlock the “King” piece? And why do you think so?
Something I just thought of: Moriarty is the King (if he dies in the show I mean, he was just the head, like a King. And he kinda calls himself one) and Magnussen is the Queen (he rules everyone bc he’s just a Bastard with a capital B)
