Chester has many hobbies, one being that he really likes cooking. With the kingdom being entirely underground, only the elites/royal family is able to enjoy "topside" foods, so Chester takes full advantage of trying to master the culinary arts.
He also enjoys exploring the caves to collect ingredients for both dinners and potions.
Chester just likes making things, he's a very creative science-y little guy
