This pain. This full body, bone deep pain... Sandra remembered it from when William revived her years ago. She opened her mouth to scream in pain but nothing came out. She writhed and struggled in the chair she had been confined to, trying to ease the pain she felt. Chet watched her with an amused look on his face.
“Breathe, Rebecca. Focus on my voice,” he said sharply, putting the syringe away, “I told you that you weren’t going to escape your punishment by dying on me.” Sandra couldn’t hear him over the sound of her own heartbeat pounding in her ears before she slowly started to settle down, her body trembling.
“Good girl. Do you see how much easier your life can be when you listen to others?” Sandra lowered her head, panting hard before murmuring softly.
“Hmm? What was that, dear?” Chet walked over to her and leaning down in front of her, “You’ll have to speak up if you want something.” Sandra kept her head down but didn’t make a sound. Chet smiled.
“Are you going to behave yourself from now on?” Sandra nodded.
“No more rebelling?” Another nod. He began to smile, running a hand through her hair tenderly, causing her to flinch slightly.
“Good. Now, let’s get you all ready to meet William.”
