the worldbuilding kinda gets thrown out of focus once sirius starts his villain arc but he really isnt doing it Purely out of revenge for polaris, he genuinely despises bound arlyns society and unthinking subservience to the constellations+what the clans have become; it might be more accurate to call polaris' death the catalyst for his worldview and his most personal reason for it

hes using the power forced onto him as a sorcerer of canis major to destroy the biggest symbols of the power given to polaris as a sorcerer of ursa minor and by proxy revolting against the idea of sorcerers who follow constellations in the first place, eradicating the biggest threat their power is used to defend against (monsters from the void) himself and the status quo maintained by the perceived necessity of their magic with it
