"I'll have a Johnny Lennon, please" - while it may be famous for its beaches and entertainment, the Gold Coast keeps impressing me with just how good their food can be. Take Tribeca NYC on Chevron Island. While just metres away from the bustling tourist hub of Surfers Paradise, you'll find a lot more locals heading out to eat, drink and relax. Tribeca NYC is modelled on those classic American dishes, but often with a healthy twist. Sure, there's Mac & cheese, sliders, burgers, fries and hot dogs but there's also gluten free, vegetarian and 'health conscious' choices. That's where the Johnny Lennon comes in. Forget the heavy buns, on this plate is a locally sourced (delicious!) American-style sausage topped with sauerkraut, ketchup, mustard and a trademark pickle, but it's on a bed of fresh salad.
