What matters is that Wen Ning is IMMEDIATELY ride or die for Wei Wuxian

Just, "he was nice to me once and saved me once and now I owe a debt of loyalty for all eternity"

(and in the book it's JUST "he was nice to me once")

It doesn't matter what interpretation you have, whether it's a modern or fantasy or whatever au, the critical part is Wen Ning's absolutely immediate and unwavering commitment to Wei Wuxian after they met once at band camp the cloud recesses

Going from The Untamed, where every little hand touch is amazing and analysing if something counts as them.hokding hands, to Word of Honour where they hold hands every chance they get, has been wild

So far I feel like Word of Honour is just the story of Wen Kexing desperately trying to make himself a Trophy Wife for the reluctant Zhou Zishu

It's so nice to see Chengling, who has spent most of the show sad, worried and hiding something, smiling and happily playing along with teasing and acting spoiled. The love he's been shown by Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing has helped him be a kid again, despite all he's been through. Amazing.
