The Native Tongues Commemorating 30 Years With Festival
The Native Tongues are celebrating 30 years with their own festival that will debut in July. The '90s rap collective that comprises De La Soul, The Jungle Brothers and Monie Love among others is having a concert at The Anthem in D.C. with a full lineup. Leaders Of The New School, Black Sheep, Chi Ali, Jungle Brothers, DJ Red Alert, DJ Maseo from De La Soul, Jaroboi from A Tribe Called Quest, Brand Nubian, Da Bush Babees and The Fu-Schnickens will be in the building. The event will also honor late members Phife Dawg and Chris "Baby" Lighty and donate money to The National Diabetes Association and The National Suicide Prevention.
The show will also raise money for the Omar Akil-directed Speaking In Tongues documentary that promises to tell the collective's story.
The Native Tongues Festival will take place July 18th at The Anthem in D.C. Tickets are on sale now.
