Potrei disegnare meglio? Probabilmente sforzandomi sì. Mi interessa? No. Non sono un illustratore, men che meno un’artista. Mi occupo d’identità di marca e comunicazione e quello che mi interessa di più è visualizzare nel minor tempo possibile un’intuizione, per capire se può funzionare. Il risultato non è il disegno in sé, il risultato è un concept, focalizzato attraverso un processo antico come il mondo: il disegno.

In questo caso si parlava di scarabocchiare uno storyboard, ma poteva essere una campagna stampa, un marchio, un packaging. Uno scarabocchio che non è un prodotto finito come quelli fatti al computer ma un “LA” per pensare e condividere un’idea con un altro interlocutore, che può essere un collega, un fotografo, un regista, uno stampatore o perché no, un cliente.

A qualcuno può sembrare poco, per me è il 90% del progetto. Il resto è definizione del trattamento e realizzazione. Una volta acceso il computer molte cose possono cambiare, ovvio, non sono mica Vignelli che schizzava impaginati con precisione millimetrica! Però il concept se è solido - e valido - non cambia. Alla fin fine credo che questa sia la cosa più importante che ho imparato in 81 quaderni da disegno… sarà per quello che ora me li produco! 😅 #artdirection

Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs cocktail) Ingredients: 1 ¼ oz. bourbon 2 oz. apple cider (or apple cider syrup) Drizzle of Chianti Fresh lemon peel 

Directions: Add bourbon and apple cider to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a glass. Slowly drizzle chianti over the drink. Garnish with a fresh peel of lemon. Best served with a side of fava beans.
