The one problem with finally getting his proposal to Syo out of the way, was that now he no longer had that to fall back on as a great present. Plus now as Syo’s fiance, the pressure was on to actually think of good, if not amazing, presents. So after weeks of agonizing over what to do, that wasn’t just sex and pie, Ringo finally came up with a present only he could give. Well, others could, but only he could do it best.
So being the photographer of the group, he put together a scrapbook of his lovely fiance. Pictures he’d taken himself over the years, or gathered from others, dating all the way back to the blond’s academy days. Keeping most of the focus on academy, rehearsal, or home life. Things that weren’t professionally recorded and more wildly available.
But that wouldn’t be special enough. So paired with a good portion of the photos, were equivalent moments from Ryuuya and his own academy/debut days. Mostly to show Syo the parallels between himself and his beloved idol, but Ringo knew it wouldn’t be right to not include himself as well. He was expected to show his own old photos to his fiance after all.
Tucked away at the back of the book in a small pouch was a flash drive containing digital copies of all of the photos, alongside a few videos, again, of both Syo’s academy/debut days, and Ryuuya and his own.
So alongside a fresh pie, the book rested on Ringo’s coffee table, while Ringo himself waited eagerly for the blond to arrive. Just about flinging himself at the other when the door finally opened, pressing light, happy kisses to his fiance’s cheeks and lips. “Happy birthday Syo!~”
How Can I Not || RenxSyo || @chibisyokurusu
His fingers drummed along the table, playing along to the music coming through the speakers of the cafe. A slightly upbeat yet mellow jazz song was playing that Ren was unfamiliar with. He made a memo in his head to look the song up later.
The cafe was filled with smell of coffee, sugary sweets, and fresh bread. The place was painted in dark tones of mainly blues and browns. Various types of sitting places were scattered around the place; from wooden stools to cozy love seats. There was a few people in the cafe, working on laptops, reading, or just enjoying the company of a friend. It wasn't an overly crowded place, being on the outskirts of the city, so there was space for people to sit alone.
Ren sat in the far corner of the cafe, not only to avoid attention, but it was more quiet. He was in need of quiet, but not complete silence. He had come here to avoid being alone with his thoughts after all. The thoughts that had plagued him since yesterday. Ever since...
He swirled the stirrer in his now lukewarm coffee. Distraction.
Sapphire eyes wondered behind shaded glasses, observing the different people in the cafe. His eyes caught site of a table with two girls, continuously glancing over at him. He almost winked but remembered the glasses. He opted for a smile instead as soon as they looked over again. They giggled before turning back around. He figured they couldn't be much older than high schoolers. 'Not interested, but could pass the time'. He waved when they looked back again as a signal. It seems they got the hint as they headed over to his table. They couldn't tell who he was, which made this much easier. After light introductions they got into basic conversation. Ren tried to focus on the conversation, but could tell he wasn't giving it his normal all. He felt bad for the ladies that he couldn't bring himself... To be himself.
Something brightly colored flashed into view of the window behind the girls. His fingers froze. 'Keep walking...' They didnt, in fact it seemed like they caught sight of him at the same moment.
The overly familiar figure entered the cafe. 'Shit... He doesn't look too happy.' Ren's eyes flickered to the clock just above his head. It was well pass 7 in the evening... Practice would have ended not too long ago. He couldn't bring himself to go. One of the reasons heading straight for his table and the other had been blowing his phone up so much he had to put it on vibrate.
Not one to cause a disturbance, Ren stood. "Excuse me ladies, my friend I was supposed to meet has arrived. Please keep the table. It was lovely chatting with you both."
Before they could get a word out, Ren headed to a different table on the opposite side of the room... Avoiding eye contact but still walking at a leisurely place as if his heart wasn't pounding in his ears.
He sat down at the table. His pocket vibrated. Guilt ate at him. He smiled at the blond. "What brings you here, Ochibi?"
Happy Birthday, Syo~!
The redhead had been breaking his head on the particular subject for weeks now, the specific date drawing closer & closer not exactly helping either. It was almost Syo’s birthday --- and with the other being his best friend and especially after the gift he received for his own birthday, he wanted to do something special.
But trying to deduce what said ‘special’ thing was, was harder than expected. If anything, he didn’t want to do anything typical. Syo would surely be satisfied with anything the redhead got him, and seeing that smile on the other’s features would be enough --- but this year, that wasn’t going to cut it. The blond would surely receive more than enough hats and other fashionable items, so the guitarist definitely wanted to refrain from getting any of those.
Something personalized like the bracelet he got was definitely appealing, but unfortunately, the redhead was by far not as creative as the blond when it came to subjects like these. He could probably opt to make a cake, but the assistance he’d probably require would make the present far less personal as well.
Was there something he could do then..?
There was, and the redhead had been planning it for quite some time now. Keeping his mouth shut was probably the hardest part, but he was fairly certain that his best friend had no idea whatsoever. Syo had been working so very hard lately, perhaps even that was an understatement, and while it could probably be said for all the band members, the guitarist felt like the other had earned a well deserved break --- which was exactly what he was going to give him.
The other probably didn’t know yet, but from Sunday till Wednesday his schedule was cleared, still allowing him to spend time with everyone on his actual birthday before leaving. It had been quite a hassle to do, but the idol had managed to do it nonetheless. Ofcourse that wasn’t all he did, he also made enough plans so the blond wouldn’t get bored whatsoever. The violinist was getting a trip to Kamakura, which was merely 2 hours away by train, allowing him some different sights than the far too familiar ones in Tokyo. The hotel he booked for the other was merely minutes away from the city’s famous shopping street, meaning that his best friend could do lots and lots of shopping as he loved to do.
---ofcourse, the idol didn’t have to go alone. Even if it would allow for quite a break, surely Syo would eventually get bored if there was no one around to talk to. Who to bring was completely up to him however, the redhead could only hope that whoever he decided to bring would be able to clear their schedule on such a short notice. But never the less, the guitarist was satisfied with what he came up with.
Unable to contain his excitement, sleep had apparently been the last thing on his mind today, causing him to wake up & arrive at the other’s dorm door perhaps a bit early. A large enveloppe that contained all the tickets the other needed in hand, the idol was also carrying a slim rectangle present as well. Inside the red wrapping paper of said present, the blond would find a notebook. “Syo’s notes” cheesily written on the pink cover, surrounded by a few winged Onpu-kun’s that were spread over it. The first page also contained doodles of a chibi Syo in his “Prince of Fighting” outfit, supposedly fighting various versions of the pink mascot. Perhaps it was cheesy, but the idol wanted to add some light heartedness in it as well. On the back however, there were 2 chibis of the two best friends, holding hands with grins stretched from cheek to cheek, a soccer ball resting at their feet. The words “Forever the perfect golden combo ♥” written on top. Hopefully it will bring a smile to his face the day he discovers it.
Taking a deep breath, his lips soon stretched into a bright smile, carefully knocking the door to hopefully not disturb the other roommates just yet. “...Syo? Are you up yet..?” The idol could feel his heartbeat increasing as he gave it a few seconds, perhaps it was for the best to come back later.

“You aren’t supposed to be here.”
The forest was where the heartless vampire Ailess lived and the villagers nearby were well aware of the powers such a being possessed. Anyone of half a mind would know it would be foolish to enter the place where such a beast lived, but it seemed that wasn’t the case for this foolish soul.
For whatever reason a human such as this would enter his domain was lost in the beast of the night. All he knew was someone was foolish enough to leave a place of safety and enter somewhere dangerous. Hm.. perhaps he should give this human a test. He was a foolish and weak creature, but perhaps he could test just how weak-minded this boy was.
“You there. I’ll give you one of two options. One: you leave this place and never return. Two...”

Otoya was excited that the blonde male had accepted his offer. He did have some slight ulterior motives however, but nothing that should scare the violinist off. “Hmmm..” The redhead put his index finger against his chin as he thought about it. “You would prefer action movies right.. I’m fine with anything really~!”
