hey there! it's that same anon from a long time ago who had questions since this is my first convention at chicon. where do we go for photo ops? do they like tell us? same with autographs. thank you so much.

When you arrive at the convention they give you a schedule of events for the day including times for photo ops and autographs (this can also be printed a few days before the event when posted online but the convention one will be more up to date). They will also announce events so be sure to pay attention. When it’s time for the photo-op you should be able to just follow the crowd there but they often have signs posted as well. Since we are in a new hotel this year I’m not entirely sure where photo-ops will be held. If it is time and you are unable to find it, don’t panic! Ask ANY creation or hotel attendant and they should be able to point you in the right direction. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to scope out the hotel when there are down times in the schedule so you know where things are located. When you find the photo-op just hop in line and wait for your turn (there is not an order for these, just whoever shows up first) Make sure that you get there on time because once they get to the last person in line, the session is done and the stars leave. So, if you are late, they don’t do make ups.
As for autograph, for some stars that have many autograph sessions (Richard, Matt, etc) they will announce when and where those will be during the day. However, most stars do their autographs at the end of the day. So, after all panels and photo-ops are done. Everyone will gather in the main auditorium and will be guided to their autographs starting with gold followed by silver and then row by row for everyone else. It is a very long and tedious process. (I only had a Misha autograph last year but since we were pretty far back we had to wait almost an hour just to get in line.) After the autographs is usually when the special events begin such as karaoke and the cabaret.
