Alot of people are saying that what they'd actually like to see tumblr do is make it easy for them to talk only to their mutuals. I think that's an awful idea. Unless you can seem like an approachable person how do you even end up becoming mutuals.
Some of the closest people I have in my life are people I found interesting on tumblr and struck up conversations. If you have the ability to block out people from personal posts then you make it impossible for people to become real friends unless they have some sort of tumblr clout imo. Just use the group chat functions if you want to keep people out.
