“Cosmic swirls coupled with limbs rhythmically circling a dusty, open silent stage.”
That bit of descriptive poetic prose is how Chico Enterprise-Record Entertainment Editor Leila Rodriguez opened up her review of “Creation Stories," an original work written by Katie Whitlock and directed by fellow Department of Music and Theatre faculty member Sue Hargrave Pate. The production opened Tuesday, March 4th and will continue its run in Wismer Theatre through March 13; the theatre is “black” Monday, March 10th. For tickets call the University Box Office, 898-6333. Chico ER Fear Mongering: Homeless-related crimes to get less police response in fall

This article is a poor representation of what was relayed by the police representative at the Homeless Task Force. Lt. Jennifer Gonzales also said that, “It’s not a police issue per say. We frequently refer to homeless services."
Mrs. Gebb tactless omission of this fact is unacceptable. Lt. Gonzales’ point was that many (frequently) calls don’t result in arrest or citation, rather referrals to service providers.
Lt. Gonzales also said, “Sometime you call the police and you don’t get what you expect." The Homeless Task force attendees discussed both these topics, all of which doesn’t fit the Enterprise Record’s agenda, creating fear to sell newspapers. Case in point: Jennifer never said police won’t respond to crime let alone property theft!
Perhaps Mrs. Gebb would better serve the discussion by keeping her opinions to herself and sticking with the facts and making sure editorial discretion doesn’t twist stories to fit agenda’s.
