Chill Friday
It's odd, I don't feel the usual surge of energy that comes along with the weekend. It's as if the increased activity of last weekend hasn't allowed my full work week to recover. I will admit that even I run out of energy, and although tonight I might do something mellow like play video games all night, I will still give you the knowledge in my head.
Before anything, I'm just going to let you know that tomorrow is the ArtWalk in Wynwood, so perhaps you'd like to save your energy for that instead.
Here's what's going on tonight:
If, unlike me, you have tons of energy that you can expend in dance and sweat, head over to Jazid for a repeat of Jahfé's sweet reggae sounds. I posted on Sunday night about their show and it was amazing, so it has my fun night seal of approval. I think the password for tonight is "Super Super." Remember this only works before midnight, otherwise its a $10 Cover
If you feel like just grabbing a few drinks while there is relaxing alternative rock playing in the background, I recommend Grand Central. Tonight they feature three local bands, the one I know the best is Space Between Words but I did hit reverbnation to check out the other two and they have similar sounds. Bonus for this event? No Cover!
Not in the mood for either? You want to just hear beautiful melodious music in Spanish? Head over to El Sitio in Coconut Grove, where Dominican artist Vicente Garcia will be performing. Vicente is typical Latin Pop, I would pin him more as a ballads singer than anything else, but he does have some upbeat songs. He also blends a little of Caribbean sounds in his music. I don't think there is a cover for this.
Now if you feel musically adventurous head over to the Electric Pickle where tonight they have Guti, an EDM** virtuso from Argentina. The interesting thing about him is that his musical journey started with real instruments (piano). There is a cover for this, and I think you have to buy your tickets in advance, you can do that here.
There you have it, report done and now a toast for life! (I'm turning into a hippie)
**I am not an expert on EDM (Electronic Dance Music) so please take my comments with a grain of salt.
